I've been in industrial maintenance for over 25 years and I just recently moved over to this industry. I didn't even know how to read a meter or anything a few months go. I watch all your videos and I gotta hand it to ya, buddy, you're by far the best instructor I've ever had in all my working years. You're very concise and break down individual components with great detail in a manner that is easy to follow. I am already low voltage troubleshooting and have gotten my universal epa certification in minimal amount of time thanks to your teaching. I just wanted to say thank you for doing what you do and I look forward to learning so much more from you in the future. God Bless and keep it up, you do wonderful things for a lot of people.
Thank you John! I enjoyed your comment and am happy to hear that the videos have been helpful for you! Sounds like your industrial experience is kicking in since you are able to quickly understand and implement all the new knowledge. May God bless you and your family as well!! I am sure you will become a master in a third of the time it takes most people. 👍👍

Hey you’re bordering on 100k for Christmas Jay! I can’t imagine all the effort cumulatively you’ve invested to be approaching THE milestone. Word of advice. Please help. What's 5 flashes error code. " flame sensed when no flame should be present "? I cleaned the flame sensor. No voltage going to gas valve. Gas present. No voltage at pressure switch. ...
Unfortunately I can't give you a concrete answer since I have seen various things cause that error code before.. The most obvious thing to look for is to make sure that the flame sensor rod was put back in correctly and it is not touching anything metal like the burners. Another thing to look for is the wire that goes to the flame sensor, is there any place where that wire is bare and touching something? Or perhaps it got pinched between something. If you are still not finding anything then there's not much more I can help you with without being there. I have also seen bad control boards or defective gas valves cause that error code before.
@@WordofAdviceTV very nice descriptive answer. Thanks much. This ameristar unit is known to have these particular control boards go out. I tried to diagnose the gas valve and jumped R at terminal board to common on gas valve and blew fuse lol. Got to make sure you jump it to hot terminal on gas valve and not common ;) but the conclusion is bad board.
@Daniel L You're welcome! If I had to guess, I would say bad board as well :) So hopefully that will get it fixed and you can forget about it for another 20 years or so.
@@WordofAdviceTV 20 years. Lol. These greedy companies in the west will condemn a compressor or heat exchanger well before that time, if they have to they'll csyss the problem themselves. I had to leave my last company because too much moral conflict with their dishonest practices.
@classic287 Ahh that's what you meant. For some reason I thought that was a rhetorical question at first. Many of these switches are still mechanical I think.. The snap disc or bi-metal on a temperature switch would be considered mechanical operation right? Or the little diaphragm inside of a pressure switch, I believe that is also mechanical operation. Flow and float switches as well. Perhaps the timer switch is electrical in a time delay control board. Haha sorry, there is a also a chance that my understanding of the difference between "mechanical and electrical" is not quite right too... Maybe someone smart will come along who will really spell things out for us :)
I disagree with what was said at the start of the video. He said a diagram shows the switches in a powered state. I think they show the switches in a state with no power applied to the contactor or relay!
