Too bad they didn't show us more of Snow's reaction when he heard Katniss sing a song years later that was composed by Lucy.

The way Lucy Gray is forever young and beautiful hits different.

Coryo couldn’t trust fully because he knew or believed that no one can love whom he was becoming. Lucy Gray said that trust was the most important part of a relationship to her. Sure admitting he tattled to Gaul about Sejanus is awful but if he’d been honest maybe she could’ve found a way to keep going. But Lucy Gray knew she was in danger and fled. Maybe she bled out or hid until her final days far away from the Capitol and the districts. Snow went on to never love and kept the memory of the extreme passion and pain he felt when he heard a beautiful girl sing, kissed her with everything he had and lost her with a single lie.

And he said in the future don’t tell lies he’s so against it in the future ironically

@@RR-ld3kd yep it’s part of his regret. Because I think sometimes he wonders if he could’ve gotten Lucy and the presidency. If he’d been honest. How powerful they’d be together. How useful she could’ve been.

Their failed love story pains me a lot for some reason. I think he loved her with all his heart, but power and lies corrupted him. I feel sorry for him

    • @HelloAwesome94
      @HelloAwesome94 8 месяцев назад +21

@@elimoran7345 it’s just that at Croyos core there was a drive that could’ve led him to a peaceful life with Lucy Grey. The other side was him lying and covering up things he was doing to be with her because he didn’t know where to go from here but didn’t want this life either because he saw better for himself because he’s a Snow. His ambition and drive drove him towards the presidency and away from someone who could’ve saved him from himself.

That's why he promised Katniss to never lie. He sees Lucy in katniss and he would like to make up for his mistake, the one mistake that kept him traumatized which is losing Lucy with a lie.
And at last, Snow told Katniss the truth about Coin, and he admitted and being truth to his evil nature and his true self to Katniss, something that he couldn't do to Lucy as Lucy never gave him the chance, she disappeared and she never saw her again.
The pain of the mistake, the pain of the abandonment haunt him for the rest of his life and he got to make it up through Katniss

This prequel moved me a lot, especially in the romantic relationship between Corolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird. The attraction between the two was magical. I can't believe this relationship ended like that at the end of the film when Lucy Gray disappears without explanation. I'm sure they saw each other again afterwards. Where has Lucy Gray gone? She couldn't return to District 12 because she would have been arrested. She probably went to District 13. Did she become the president of District 13? Did she join the resistance? And Snow, what did he do before becoming president of Panem? Did he secretly see Lucy Gray again? If so, has she tried to change him, to soften him, to make him good? Did they have a secret romantic relationship without either the Capitol or District 13 knowing? Did they have a child together? There is still so much to know about their lives when they were 30 or 40 or 50! I sincerely hope that there will be a sequel to this prequel because I have never felt so much desire to know the sequel to a film!

Tom Blyth was the perfect casting for Coriolanus Snow as a young adult. He and Donald Sutherland look alike.

Each to their own, everyone has their own interests for sure.
But the books were definitely better than a lot of what is considered popular today, especially with actual writing quality. And despite the movie rushing the plot a little, it’s still a pretty good adaptation too.

Loved the books. The prequel is the best of the 4.
The books are much better than what is written nowadays..in most subcategories.
Also, this movie is one of the best in recent times.
It makes so much sense of the earlier 3 books.
The tragedy of humankind and our choices are so beautifully portrayed.

I loved both the book and the movie. The book was in fact better, but of course it is not easy to put the whole book in the film, but hey made a good job woth film.
