These videos where Laura is all over the property doing a lot of different projects are some of my favorites. We get a tour without getting a tour, if that makes sense. What an amazing childhood Benjamin and Samantha are living. It's full of the love of family, flowers, playing, cats, chickens, and sunshine!

Hi Laura. I think curving the edge of the rock wall will help soften that area. You have a number of right angles there and a curve would help naturalise that corner.

Two years ago I moved from a Zone 9 to a Zone 7. Knew nothing about gardening in a zone 7. Garden Answer to the rescue! Had a carpet guy here today to take measurements. He complimented me on my garden. Then he asked if I watch RUclips and if I'd ever seen Garden Answer. Told him I never miss it! Thank you SO much for your help, guidance and education. The brick patio area is coming out so beautiful!
I think that continuing the rock wall and adding material and plants would definitely hide the stuff you want to hide easily. What an awesome progress over the years. We always look forward to what you offer us viewers 💕

Re: Purpose of the Brick Patio ~ ? ~ Is the patio going to be a space for Entertaining ? ~!~ Garden area Or a Patio?
The entire property is beautiful... with a Zillion ~ shrubs / flowers / trees *But...what is the brick patio going to be used for? What about a 'Covered' area?
What about a BBQ - pizza oven - counter - kitchen area - small fridge ~ Dining table (off to the side) and more Covered Seating. (are the bugs bad? Screened-in area?)
(Is there enough room for 20 people in that area.. ? Is the Patio area getting a bit crowded? ) ~ You can always Add more 'stuff' later.
A Covered Patio can be anything from a retractable awning to a pergola, shade cloth or a fixed roof.
(Umbrellas aren't enough for many people to sit under all together......and can easily blow over in your wild wind)
What do you really Need in the center?
Do you Need another planter or a fountain in the Center? Will that be a waste of entertaining space? Something Removable in the Center for larger gatherings?
What about future....Birthday parties / holidays / graduations / weddings? (area for the kids to play / games to play / people to gather)
Somewhere to put out food / to be able to sit / eat and get out of the sun and bugs.
Maybe there are 'plans' for another area for Family parties / gatherings ~ IDK.
I agree...Continuing the rock wall / Awesome progress in such a short time / What all of us can only Dream of......

Beautiful Laura! I think you should put beautiful concrete containers on pedestals in each corner of the swoops and put the rock wall all the way along at same height to provide neat and tidy barrier against the brick walkway. Boxwood hedge on one side, rock wall acting as retaining wall on other. Can still do plantings to cover the equipment. It is gonna be gorgeous whatever you decide! 🇨🇦❤

I've been backtracking and watching garden tour videos starting when your first moved into the house. What an amazing transformation over the years combining great elements of what was already in place and changing or adding others for your specific style. And what a great style it is. Your aesthetic sense is very beautiful. This latest brick patio project is just one more in a long line of projects that you've done that add so much beauty to your home and gardens. Don't you just love seeing it all come together and the new plantings mature over the years! Pretty awesome to be along for the ride.

The Brick Patio Update Tour - A feature to add to the flowerbed area of the joining paths and behind the brick wall would be a 3 arm lighting fixture with hanging lights. They would add drama and great lighting to the entrance at night. The sight line would be just to the right of the trellis keeping symmetry to the area. It could be put on a pad, pedestal etc... if height is needed. It could also add additional electrical plugs to the area. I am not a gardener but do enjoy watching your shows as I love design of all kinds.

My morning routine includes coffee, puppy snuggles and the newest Garden Answer video. I find myself sitting and smiling watching your kiddos and cats playing in the background. I love learning about new plants and landscaping, combinations in containers and craft projects. I wish you could come run a drip system at my place! Thanks for helping me start my days ❤

I love these types of videos, hearing Laura’s excitement as each part comes together is priceless…. I’d say continue the rock wall all the way to the end would look more finished😊

Definitely continue the rock wall! Elevation will add so much to the space. Plus the address texture of the rocks. And I hope lighting will play a significant part in the new patio area. Uplighting under the trees and lights along the pathway.

Ditto on the lighting. Especially since Hose Link offers solar lighting, and with Hose Link being a sponsor, it could be a win win.

Can I weigh in here and say NO!! to roses on your beautiful arbor. I think you have mentioned that this walkway is the one you use the most to enter your home. Poor Arron having to dodge thorns while carrying in your groceries or whatever else into the home.😁😁 Your family and special friends will thank you too.

The brick patio area has really been transformed!! Placing the arbor at the entrance was genius! I vote for continuing the brick wall around to hide all the utilities. The plants will soften all the edges and make it look like it was there forever.
    Great job, Laura!

The whole new area is looking wonderful, full of possibilities for memories!
Remember that you will always be carrying loads through that arbor and what ever you plant at it will impede your travel path to the house.
Any type of climber will need to be constantly trimmed, even in times when trimming is not ideal for the plant.
Some visitors who are spider/insect weary might be fearful of walking through a planted arbor.
A nice open welcoming opening with boxwoods and large beautifully planted planted raised urns would be very welcoming.

I think you should continue the rock wall all the way to the bench and build the garden up, it would look beautiful and make it more cozy and closed in like you day as a room, also would be beautiful to view through the arbor

Lotta running around to do daily stuff! So satisfying to see. Same for me today, grocery store for food and plants, then home to stash and plant new blooms. Also had fountain problems to work on and stuff to water. Phew, I m beat!

The patio is looking awesome, yes, I love how you defined the entrance from the parking area with the arbor and the brick pathway! I also like the idea of extending the rock wall, but what about bringing it all the way around up to the tree, to creates more of a planter. Then, you can have the sweet little bench area under the tree. That would separate that area from the formal side, and join it more with informal house side. Maybe you can stack some of the flagstone rocks around to see if you want to close that area in. So hard to know without being in the space, but just an idea. Thanks again for taking us along! 🥰🥰

We drive by the Big Tex Trailer manufacturing plant in Wills Point, Texas every weekend on our way to our country house. Enjoy your new trailer. I’m sure you’ll enjoy having it. Aaron did a great job securing the boxwoods. I love seeing the kids helping around your property.
