Love how he patented his own finger picking style. Sounds almost classical at times. His songs like this make me think of his first song he learned.. “don’t think twice it’s alright “

Exactly, the picking style he uses creates such a smooth sound that's instantly recognisable.
You're right I can definitely hear the inspiration from "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right". Especially in the way Elliott wrote chord progressions.
