I had the bad habit of picking up a hobby and then trying to monetize it in a way. But, I’ve been trying to find something not related to film, and took up crocheting. It’s been really nice to learn, and I just finished my first stuffy. Really cool to see your workshop and trinkets!
I feel you on the monetizing hobbies thing, I honestly might have to start selling some of my carvings later on because they pile up. I've tried crochet before but I gave up, I think the stuff people make are really cool though lol
Hi, Janie! I rarely comment, but I just wanted to say: Never stop creating. It's so brave of you how you put parts of yourself into the world (I'm guessing) in hopes to inspire people along the way. Well, consider me inspired. Please never stop doing things you love. Janie, continue creating for Janie. Perhaps it's also high time for me to get back on my creative pursuits haha. Thanks for the video! Wishing you well, million miles away.
Hi! Thanks so much for the encouragement, it means a lot. I do hope that my videos help or inspire people in some way and I'm glad it did for you. I make these just for fun so it feels good to have people take something from them. Good luck with your creative pursuits. Art is for the artist. Hope you're doing well!
I've been struggling to pursue my hobbies that I have previously loved. This really struck a chord with me, and why I fell in love with them in the first place and that it's okay to not return to them. It's okay to find something else. This really helped the way I look at how I command the niceties in my life. The fact you said that you don't listen to music or podcasts and instead use all your focus on the one thing is definitely something I'm going to try - my mind flitters from one thing to another, and maybe not having music is a way for my mind to focus on something wholeheartedly instead of thinking something is too much effort to do and end up not doing it at all! Thank you so much for this video, it was filmed really nicely, and great carvings! Happy holidays!
Hi Fred, glad to read your thoughts here. I go through multiple hobbies all the time, some I go back to and others, not so much. I just try to stick to the ones that make me the happiest in the moment. I find not listening to anything helps to practice mindfulness. Glad you enjoyed the video!
i love this! because even before you posted this, i've started creating little things. i learned how to sew, and i've mended my family's ripped clothes. then, i moved on to the next step, making plushies. it's much harder than i thought, but it's very fun and rewarding. i made a bad one, and after that, i made a good one. which i am also very happy about 🤍 i also bought some books (after i won a competition and got money from! yippie!) which are my past 5 star reads and annotated them, which i'm loving a lot. i also started drawing again, not complete pieces, but it still makes me happy and proud of myself. if you view it in a different perspective, you definitely would need to spend money on it life, which was primarily my concern at first before starting all of it, but somehow, i made it all work out in the end and i'm glad that i finally just... start doing it and not procrastinate any longer. life has been good lately. i am so glad for it.
Omg they are so cute !! I think my fave is hipster ghost 👻
Thanks, it was one of my favorites too!
