This album was not on my radar until I discovered the singles a few days ago. It's astonishing how good it is, but I guess also unsurprising considering it's Danger Mouse and Black Thought.
Awesome reaction bro. Cheat Code is one of the best album of this year, like TOP 3! Tariq is TOP 1. I would love to hear some Black Thought / Madlib project, man. Peace from Argentina.
I had high expectations because Danger Mouse did 2 collab albums with Cee lo Green which Is absolutely great, but with Black Thought I was super excited. Exceeded my expectations and absolutely love this album
The mix is refreshing in today's age amongst all the clean polished shit. The vocal mixing Sounds like a live open mic night, and the beautiful distorted sample loops, heavy bass crazzzy drums, vinyl static just gives it the perfect foundation. And to top it off you just got barsssss on barss
Danger Mouse & Black Thought -- Cheat Codes -- hits the spot. I put "Aquamarine" on my playlist the first day I heard it. "Horsepower like a Mongolian", heh ... PS. The sample in "No Gold Teeth" is from "Stop" by Hugh Masekela off his 1968 album The Promise of a Future.
This has been such a great year for rap. Kendrick, Danger Mouse and Black Thought, Zel, Conway, J.I.D., Mach Hommy, and don't forget Nas started the year off
Danger mouse appeals mostly to "White ears" ... that said he's talented. Black Thought is a well of never ending lyricism. Together - a great combo. I wasn't blown away with Cheat Codes .. but it's a good joint. I wish producers today would stop with the over-the-top symphonies and focus on Boom Bap more . Shit be too cute nowadays. Listen to "RAW" by Big Daddy Kane ..sledgehammer from the jump. ..that's what I miss .
This whole album is badass from start to finish. Cheat codes, no gold teeth, strangers are like old school bangers. I could have done without the Conway track and the super annoying griselda signature trill sound. Felt out of place.
Black Thought ⚫️ black'd on THIS WHOLE ALBUM! I had the exact same reaction! Black Thought showed his ass on this album be like...ard ok, I see u showing off ok 😆
black thought is 50 years old. he's a legend.
Finally an album that I can listen to in its entirety released this year without skipping any tracks. Thats how it should be done.
Exactly!! Dope ass album
Bash bros “bloodsport champions” is another. But basically I agree
Forever story?
The production on this joint is dope. Subtle but interesting. Danger Mouse needs more recognition.

very dope reaction. cheat codes is a masterpiece.
I felt the exact same way about "Strangers". Rocky and Killer Mike were good, but Black Thought and EL-P brought the heat on that beat.

Black thought is why I will never call Eminem a goat he proved it on hot 97 and in the cipher with mosdef
they all went off in that bet cipher tho.
