I was in FPC Bryan for a few years & this is inaccurate for the most part. Even the footage they used, other than a couple of shots, are not from Bryan.
Dear Ms. Holmes, I hope you will learn as much from your new experience as you finally did from your so outstanding businesswoman career that you needed to be awarded a Nobel Prize. But maybe you can make it through and validate yourself by helping others, using your intelligence more beneficially. I am not sure your imprisonment will ever be a good thing for your kids, though it will be seen as somewhat of a panacea to some of those whom you hurt.
I wanna be nice, but... people who say these places are cushy and a treat for inmates, have no idea what they are talking about. I've worked at San Quentin, Pelican Bay, and other state prisons, hospitals and lockups. They are soul-crushing places, and it is the rare person who has the internal resources to come out undamaged. All inmates live in a criminal society. There is a saying that inmates run the prison and guards just control the doors. From what I have seen, nothing could be truer. Sure, the rich and famous may have a much less injurious experience, but no one will ever mistake it for a vacation. That said, obviously some folks need to be removed from law-abiding society--so whadya gonna do?
