I am a new 'sewist'. . .I strive to be a sewist! I just bought the CP100x, and I ditto the positive comments you've received. TYVM for your clear instructions, for going slowly, for using the little 'pointer' to show us what you are talking about. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for your video. I was about to give up and buy another machine. Going from step 5 to step 6 was so frustrating. You made it look so easy. Thank you too for the explanation on how to use the needle threader. I’m still struggling with the decorative stitches and how to lock stitch at the beginning and end so the stitches don’t unravel. I was wondering if you’re going to continue your instructions with a Part 2. Great instruction!
Thank you, glad I could help! The needle threader takes a little getting used to but after you practice a few times, you will get it. The trick is making sure your needle is in the highest position before you begin steps 6 and 7. I did a second video (part two) which covers how to sew a basic seam including backstitching - and how to get yourself out of a jam. I will be adding more tutorials for the Brother CP100x in the next few weeks. Thanks again!⭐️🧵🪡
Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video! I got this machine a few months ago and this weekend finally am getting to sit down and figure it out. Your videos have helped so much!
Thank you for this very helpful video. I'm in the middle of planning my oldest daughter's baby shower, along with trying to make her a quilt. It's been probably 20 plus years since I've sewn partly due to a broken machine. Bought this one and was wishing there was someone in my house giving me a quick guide to how this machine works. It took me a few minutes to realize I should check RUclips. Your video was exactly what I needed. 🙂
I’m so glad to hear that the video was helpful for you! It sounds like you’ve got a lot on your plate with planning the baby shower and making a quilt-what a wonderful project. It’s great that you found the video just in time to help you with your new machine. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Happy sewing, and best wishes for the baby shower and quilt!
My husband got me brother cp100x and I never use sewing machine before .This is very helpful and very clear to understand rather than watching or reading the manual instructions. Thank you so much for making possible for me to enjoy my sewing machine and Please make more videos ❤
This type of comment is why I LOVE teaching-so rewarding! Happy to hear the video helped get you started on your sewing adventure. More videos to come soon!
I just bought my CP100X and this is hands down the best video I have seen so far for beginners. This is the first time ever I will use a sewing machine and I was feeling overwhelmed and already regretting buying a sewing machine until I found your video. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much. Had my machine for over a year and wasn't able to auto thread, so carried on the old school way. Many videos just confused me. This will be a game changer.
agree Sparks, it's 2024 just bought a new brother after using a bernina 830 for47 years sadly it died before me,and this video was the most clear and well explained of the many I have watched, thank you Thimble Bee 👌
Just got my new Brother CP100X machine. Haven't even taken it out of the box. Thank you so very much for this wonderful video. You explain the basics very clearly. Can't wait to use my new machine. Thanks again!
That’s great to hear! I tend to over explain but I’ve been teaching for years and come to realize beginners need all the details explained thoroughly, glad you found it so helpful!
I just ordered this machine for part of my Christmas (ordered early due to Amazon prime days). I appreciate your video as it will be soooo helpful! Thank you!
From one teacher to another thank you so very extremely much!!! You explain things in such a clear way, step by step and it was so helpful. I had no idea how to set the machine up and was feeling overwhelmed but this video helped calm me down. Thank you, many blessings to you!!
You’re very welcome, so glad you feel more confident and at ease with the machine after watching the videos. I’ll be posting more on this specific machine in the weeks to come!
Thank you so much for posting these videos. I just got this machine and thanks to you realized I was threading the bobbin wrong but there isn’t a lot of information about this machine so once again thank you thank you thank you
This was the most helpful video of how to thread this machine using the automatic threader. I got this machine for Christmas and am finally just now getting it set up. I love the specific details and closeups! Thank you for this video.
I’m so glad I found your videos! Very helpful. I just got this machine as a gift but haven’t opened the box because I cant find anywhere to know if it comes with a foot pedal. I am novice but old school and want to make sure it has it. The machine isn’t returnable if I open. Did the foot pedal you show come with the machine?
I’m so glad you found the video to be helpful! The pedal and power cord are included with the machine along with a variety of presser feet and accessories. Enjoy your new Brother sewing machine!
Hi there! Thanks for your question! 😊 I typically use stitch #00 because the needle plate seam allowance measurements are marked with the needle in the far left position. This helps ensure accurate seam allowances when sewing. The key difference between stitch #00 and stitch #01 is the needle placement: #00 places the needle on the far left, while #01 centers the needle. For projects where precise seam allowances are important, stitch #00 is the best option. On the other hand, if you are using specific presser feet that work better with a centered needle, stitch #01 is the way to go. Additionally, you can customize the needle position using the width button, allowing you to adjust it in 0.5 millimeter increments for even more precision. I hope this explanation helps! Happy sewing! 🧵✨
Hi ❤ may I please ask you what kind of guterman threads do you use? I really want to make Cotton/ minky blankets . But just needing to know the correct threads. Please and thank you !!
I would suggest the Gutermann Sew-All thread (in polyester). Since minky has poly in it - it’s best to use a poly thread. I would also use a 90/14 size needle. Hope that helps!
I have this same machine brand new, all threads are in correctly my top thread is hot pink and bottom thread is black well it sews good on the top but bottom thread you can see pink with black and I can pull the black out? Why is this? Tension is at 4. Needle is brand new one that came with it and thread is machine quilting thread from Joann’s. Fabric is a quarter round cotton.
Hi there! It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating thread tension issues, and there could be a few reasons for that. First, I recommend trying a 50 weight thread instead of the heavier machine quilting thread you’re using. Sometimes, hobby machines can be a bit finicky with the heavier threads, which might be causing the tension issues you’re seeing. If you’d like to stick with the machine quilting thread, you could try using that on the top while using a 50 weight thread in the bobbin. This combination can often help balance out the tension. Additionally, it’s essential to double-check that your bobbin is loaded correctly. If the bobbin isn’t inserted properly, it can lead to loose "railroaded" stitches that pull out easily. Make sure the bobbin is inserted counterclockwise and that you catch the metal hook at the base of the bobbin housing before threading through the bobbin thread guide to the left of the needle plate. I hope these tips help you resolve the issue! Happy sewing!
@@kellysmith4466 the 30 weight is more than likely the issue-it’s too thick for the machine. I would test it using an all purpose thread and see if that does the trick. Hope that helps!
