  • These are exciting times for everyone who’s working to put the brakes on climate change. Dr. Jonathan Foley, executive director, shares Project Drawdown’s bold new plan for accelerating climate solutions.
    TOP TAKEAWAYS:
Project Drawdown is accelerating climate solutions by strategically addressing three obstacles:
    1) First, we are working to overcome noise and confusion by using science to identify the most important actions with respect to time, geography, and co-benefits, and guiding investments to address solutions in proportion to their potential impact.
    2) Second, we are working to overcome delay and distraction by calling out economically and politically motivated efforts to undermine progress and positioning climate solutions as a top societal priority.
    3) Third, we are working to overcome doom and despair by moving from fear to action and amplifying new voices and messages of hope.
With your help, we can overcome these obstacles and halt climate change.

Ow, we could just 'wait and see'. O, we've already done that? Bummer.

What about all the CO2 that's already in the atmosphere. How do you get rid of that?

Most effective are the natural sinks. Gtons/year. Least effective: DIRECT AIR CAPTURE. Capturing 1 ppm CO2 costs $800 billion.

I keep hearing the words 'should' and 'hope'. This drawdown plan sounds like 'religion' in my ears. Population is on track to grow by at least 2billion people. Human behaviour is not so easy to shift, not fast enough, the system has great inertia. I know you know this. Thanks for letting me say it.

religion or not, and I think not, you face no choices. The science is real. The data is real. Are you the type of person upon being given a serious medical diagnosis do the opposite of what your doctor says? If you are, you are certainly entitled to that, but you are not right. Your negativity is something we can not afford to apply.

NO ONE talking about climate solutions EVER talks about HOW to get the US GOP to allow progress!
Where we are now, their TOP agenda is MORE fossil fuels use.
WHY do NONE of you ever address that fact, it means we will not take action if we don't figure that one out.
