I thoroughly enjoy your videos and appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge. I'm in the UK. Shooting is heavily regulated here, making it difficult to find and usually expensive. Because we are a small and densely populated country, there are few places to hunt (which is fair enough - it wouldn't be safe in many areas because you are rarely far from other people and much land is intensively farmed). As a result, I shoot small game with an air rifle for much of the time and only occasionally treat myself to a club session with a small calibre target rifle when funds permit. I hope I can say this without embarrassing you, you strike me as a traditional American gentleman - capable, thoughtful, well informed and kind. God bless you.
I will turn 71 in a couple of weeks God willing so I can relate to much of what he's talking about especially on the 222 Remington. I purchased a Model 700 Remington in 222 cal. in the mid 70's and it has been my favorite rifle ever since. I did a lot of varmint hunting in the 70's and 80's and it did the job well. Shots between a fox eyes at 100 yards at night were not uncommon. I'm now in the process of reloading a bunch of 222 shells. I'm so glad I found these video's.
THANK YOU FOR MY FREEDOM SIR.,, I'M A SON OF A VETERAN WW2 MY Dad swore by his 45 ,1911. and i'm soon to buy my own mill spec. 45. just like dad ..it was good enough fur him its really good for me ,,, so thank you for your video on racking the slide on a 45 .cal. dad always said listen to a veteran after it's my time to go to the lord,,, WHY CAUSE THE VETERAN WON'T LIE TO YOU ABOUT HIS WEAPON. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR MY FREEDOM AND GOD BLESS AMERICA AND YOUR AND YOUR FAMILY..
Thank you. In fact, besides working on the street in uniform and criminal investigation, I spent a large share of my police career teaching recruit and veteran officers in all forms of shooting and defensive work.
So good to see you again. Many of us who respect you were worried about your absence. Outdoor activities really agree with you. You sure have been busy! Good luck with your garden. God bless!🙏🏼
Glad to see your back and doing well! I was getting worried for a little while. THE best source for firearms and ballistics information on the net right here folks.
Who here wouldn't want to be this mans neighbor. Thank you for all the patient and simple explanations which have helped me and I'm sure many in our understanding of firearms. The kindness in your heart is evident in your voice, may God bless you with much happiness and a long healthy life. All the best from down under.
Good to hear from you again. And nice shooting as always sir. I have got an old Sako l461 Vixen in 222rem. Recently I had to rebarrel it, the old bofors barrel was shot out. I had my gunsmith put in an new Lilja barrel in cal 222rem with a 1/10 barrel twist. Barrel is 55cm long with a Hausken jd184 moderator. The barrel seems to stabilize bullet weights from 50gr and atleast 62gr. The bullets im using is the lapua fmj and the lapua sp 55gr, and the lapua naturalis 50gr, and the hornady v-max 50gr. All shooting fenomenal and to the same point of aim. All reloaded with lapua cases. That covers all my needs from a varmint and small game rifle. Everything else I`m using the 9.3x62. Now I`m gonna enjoy my ryebread sandwich with gravlaks, sweet mustard and eggs. God bless. Greetings from Norway. Tom
Greetings Tom! Sounds like a great rebarrel job, and a good twist to handle heavy bullets. Have traveled to Norway twice, to visit our friends in Moss, and had much fun at Ol94! Wonderful times, and is where I fell in love with gravlax.
Christ Bless, Brother! Glad to see Benny is doin' good! He looks great....a smile on his face! I just picked up my Remington 722, in Tripple Deuce, yesterday. It is an original and came with an 8X Scope Chief. 1957.
I am glad to see you back doing videos again. I have missed your videos and your wisdom and knowledge. You are a true legend in my eyes. Thank you so much for all of the time and effort that you put into making these videos
Great video on a great cartridge. The .222 has been doing, what all these ''new calibers'' are supposed to be able to do, since 1950. And I praise you for going over the basic fundamentals of sighting in a rifle.
I have MUCH respect sir for your rifle choice. That was a bucket list rifle for me, and now I’m sit here watching a wiser man shoot his little Deuce. I’m happy for you, and love your channel.
I am so glad you and your family are good. with the news about NY dealing with Covid my thoughts went to the worse. Glad to see you making videos. God Bless.
Great 👍 to see you, Benny, you explain shooting development Exactly the way my father had done to a tee, I was 9 years old, love ❤️ the videos and keep them coming 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This man is where i come to when I want to know about something relating to firearms ...there are many others on YT but this man is the encyclopedia of fire arms...period...thank you sir for sharing all your knowledge it is appreciated ,God Bless and best regards D.
Love your videos and advice on guns, reloading, and theology. I was in the hardwood floor business for many years, looks like you did a nice job. Good to see you back.
That's nice praise from your corner! I selected quarter-sawn white oak. Tucks together very tightly, but is incredibly stiff... One of my favorite, beautiful cabinet woods, too.
Just want to say man, love your channel. The inormation is gold and I appreciate you giving it to all of us a modest price. I Like your tone and attitude and your chill energy. Very wise and I take your word for alot of things. Relaxing to unwind to. Thanks man
Always learn something from your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom with us. You have taught me many things that I didn't know that I didn't know. Have a blessed day.
Thanks for the excellent video and I love to see Benny he gives me a great deal of happiness to see him run around in that meadow I hope you and your family stay safe and God bless you all🇺🇸👍👩🏻🌾👨🏻🌾🐶😍
Agreed, we missed you sir! Glad to see you are doing well and the garden looks great and it does seem to be fruitful. Benny looks great as well. God bless you and your family.
Watching one of your videos while sitting in the office in front of a computer, with a cigar and an IPA is what I call..."It doesn't get any better than this" Thank you for your efforts. They are MUCH appreciated.
Nice work around the house and garden, those veg look good. Had a t3 cracking rifle, left it go for a cz 527 .223 controled round feed equally as good. Good to see Benny doing well. You've got me back on the cigars. John Ireland
@GastonGross You said it, initially cz bolt not as slick as the tikka but got slicker with use and a wipe with a lightly oiled cloth. Only one slight issue, because of the Mauser action the bolt handle comes close to the scope, i can live with it.
GB, I always enjoy your videos. I also enjoy knowing there are others out there who love the .222 Rem. round. I have a few Sakos, two of which are chambered in .222. I have a 1969 Vixen (L461) with a "Mannlicher" stock, and a 1958 Riihimaki (L46) with a bull barrel and heavy target stock. Sakos are among my very favorite rifles and perform extremely accurately and flawlessly.
Gunblue490 shooting and teaching is like the Bob Ross of painting to me. I find him very easy on the ears, very relaxing, informative and entertaining to watch. Thank you sir for sharing your wisdom and time with us younger guys. God bless 😎👍
sir. just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your videos. your explanations are very informative and easy to understand especially for us that are not as learned as yourself. thanks again. note. I'm a gadget freak so listening to you tell me I don't need to have all the specialty tools I've acquired is refreshing. thanks again. be safe and keep reading the good book. Art Torres
Want to thank you for all the content on your channel. I know countless long time firearm dudes that unfortunately are yahoos and dont have a grain of your knowledge so much thanks for everything you offer.
Some great information that you have shared here. I've been shooting for many, many years and it never gets old. And by the way, I wholeheartedly agree with your Point Blank Range sight in being high at 100 yards. It affords you maximum use of the bullets trajectory and making things easier for game at further ranges. Thank you for sharing, God Bless and Happy New Year!!
Great to see you back sir! Thank you for the wonderful update on your numerous summer activities and for the very informative video. As always, here's wishing you, your wife, your family and Benny good tidings and many blessings!
Good to see you back sir. Thank you for passing on more of your valuable knowledge. I had a Brno Fox in .222 back in the 70's and I wish I still had it. Good to see Benny running around. Best wishes from Australia.
First time commenter but long time viewing. I apologise for that, I'm always listening to your videos whilst driving or working. Have learnt so very much. And I thank you for your wisdom and profound knowledge you graciously pass on. Following your wisdom I am now a proud owner of a tikka .243, walnut blued "hunter" with a 2-7×33 leupold. It's a beautiful machine come piece of art. Struggling to find a Garand sling here in New Zealand though! Very glad to hear you and family keeping well and busy. Kindest regards, Vincent
Good to see you and Benny! I have learned so so much from watching your videos!!!! Glad that you are back and are doing well! Keep up the awesome work and I'll keep watching!
Great to have another tidbit of honest wisdom! You are underrated and understated, just as it should be. I passed on an opportunity to acquire a Ruger #1 in the Triple Deuce and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.

SO GLAD to see you back recording! I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you!!!
Good to see you again healthy and well. Benny looks great
I was worrying a little about you and very glad to see you and Benny back!
Great to have another tidbit of honest wisdom! You are underrated and understated, just as it should be. I passed on an opportunity to acquire a Ruger #1 in the Triple Deuce and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.
Good shooting and great advice. Glad to see Benny enjoying himself, too!
Love 222. Very accurate and kills coyote quick
REALLY good tips....Nice Garden setup too👍
Glad to have you back. I really enjoy your videos.
Great to see you back with another informative video - regards Russell (UK)
Some good tips and the star of the show (Benny) making an appearance! I've been binge watching this channel and really enjoying the relaxed vibe
Love your videos. Glad you're back!!
Thank goodness you’re back. We need your videos now more than ever!
Welcome back, Sir. Tikka is fenomenal rifles! My thought is why not all bolt action rifles were not made with detacable magazines after 1945. They are easier to clear and load, and easier to change between ammo- wether you hunt smaller game that does not need an expanding bullet or bigger game that need more than a spitzer or round tip. Never had the pleasure of shooting a .222rem though.
Detachable mags have their place. I prefer a hinge floor plate tho. I do a lot of hiking and find them more reliable and also the chances of forgetting your mag at home on the counter is far less likely!!
@@outdoorsman812 Calm yourselves
Always love your vids. Your vids about guns I should say. Me and my best friend frequently rewatch your 22-250 video. That's our favorite caliber.
Thrilled to see you back on bud. Thanks for everything you’ve helped us with. And all the info you have shared. Congratulations on your home improvements
Very timely video. Two days before going to the range. Thanks for the lessons.
So, I tried to follow your Instructions but a few things got in the way. The Provincial range added a new shooting bench with a baffle. That limited the table length. The table was also a little low and all I had was a cardboard box and 3 beanbags to compensate. I don't own a rear support but putting my hand back to support the stock did help to steady my aim. The bench seat was at a right angle to the table, so 45deg was not much of an option.
My son and I took turns shooting groups of 3 at 100 yards. We're both lefties and in the end, the results objectively proved my gun is sighted in to under an inch at 100 yards.
We each fired 9 rounds of 30-06 180 grain over 2 hours and frankly we were tired of being slapped around any further. LOL
Great to see you again!
WELCOME BACK AND THE WORK YOU'VE DONE LOOKS GREAT!
So good to see you enjoying the .222 with a nice rifle. Looks like a nice day for you and Benny.
As well as me I am sure that there were a lot of folks around the world who were getting a bit worried about you and your family, and that includes Benny, nice to see you all again!
I really enjoyed this latest video. Based on your previous comments regarding the .222 Remington I am about to make this calibre my first foray into centre fire territory, having been a rim fire shooter up to now. The icing on the cake being that I am also taking a serious look at the Tikka T3X so your video could not have come along at a better time.
Take Care,
David.
Great to see you back with a new video. I’ll be out with my .223 REM Tikka T3 tonight, such a lovely utility rifle.
Best explanation of the effects of the wind I've seen, thank you sir!
Great to see you making videos again, I was afraid I would have to only enjoy you historically:) So glad I was notified as a subscriber:) Really love your stuff and have learned a lot watching and listening. Thank you for that, hope to see more soon. God bless..
I ❤️my M77 tang safety Ruger; I rechambered it from the .308 to the 260AI. It has greater range with higher sectional densities, with less recoil, with compatibility to reload with resized .308 cases if need be. I agree with P.O. Ackley’s findings that the 40 deg. shoulder’s greatest benefit was reduced brass migration and less work hardening.
I Live my Ruger, I own an M77 in .25-06 w/ tang safety. Circa 1971, it has never let me down. This rifle was a gift from my father 30+ years ago. It still adorns a period correct Bushnell 3x9 scope chief. What a shooter. Saving up for a high end scope ✌🏽
Good to have you back! God bless you.
So glad to see you back! I missed you and Benny!
Welcome back I'm glad you are well. great video God bless you and yours.
Glad to see you back at it!
Glad you are well friend.
Me too! Thanks!
I'm glad to see you and Benny together again on video, I hope the Mrs. is doing fine too. God bless you all.
I'm very happy to see you and Benny back making videos. You and Benny look GOOD!! I have to admit, I was getting worried about you. I have learned a lot from your videos and I hope you keep finding time to make us more. Take care.
Nice to see you and Benny are doing good! You inspired me quite a bit to go fourth with my channel. Forever fan here!
The sako vixen in .222rem was sheer perfection in my opinion. Great to see you back.
