    I spent half my day yesterday trying to configure Evernote tables into a meal planner - only because all my recipes have lived there for years. I tried to import all 150 notes in Notion knowing it would be more ideal, but since most are PDFs that didn't work well (or I don't know how to convert). Then last night I was randomly updating my RUclips subscriptions when I suddenly discovered your latest video was exactly what I needed! Incredible. Goodbye Evernote tables... Hello Marie's Food HQ. I bought the template immediately. It's worth 10x the selling price. The moral of the story folks is: Always consult Marie Poulin before attempting to organize anything in your life 😂. Thank you as always Marie!!!!

    It is so inspiring to see how you take Notion to the next level! Also wild, how much work it takes to come up with a system, that works for your specific needs! I have to admit, that notion and specifically your notion content is my special interest and I can lose myself in the planning process. So nice to see you back on youtube Marie!

    Cool!! I have your template from... a couple of years ago?? I tinkered with it and molded it to my needs, but I love these additions of planning freestyle and to use up ingredients. I'm excited to implement these ideas. Thanks, Marie!

    Some great ideas here. I feel with my ADHD I need some sort of tracker for what's in the fridge, when it needs to be consumed/frozen by, etc.

      Honestly, I do this with chalkboard sticky paper on the fridge itself :D

    Love this. Such a good template. What widget are you using to display the needed grocery list on your phone? :)

    • @MariePoulin
      @MariePoulin  4 месяца назад +1

      Just the Notion iOS widget set to display the Groceries database which is optimized for mobile view!

      @@MariePoulin thank you. What about databases for groceries? Do you have one database for everything like ingredients, household cleaning products and meds etc? Or just one database and different filters applied?

    Your old template has been a blessing for me and these new ideas will definitely improve my meal prepping!! Thank you!
    I couldn't figure out two aspects of the freestyle prep though, I'd be v grateful if you could help me!
    - How can I make the "need" rollup property a part of the ingredients list? As in how can I add the "need" checkbox next to each ingredient?
    - How do I filter the groceries database to only show the ingredients of the recipes that are 'planned' for that week?
    Thanks again!

      @MariePoulin  4 месяца назад +3

      1. when you click the + where you add new relations, there's a 3 dot menu that appears where you can display additional properties.
      2. you have to add a rollup on your ingredients to your recipes > planned property.

    Thank you for sharing so much helpful content on RUclips. How do you get your Rainbow Plant Life meal cards into Notion? Is there a way to upload a pdf into Notion? I was copy/pasting my recipes but its too much effort to update Notion, so my meal database has stalled.

    • @MariePoulin

      No *easy* way to get them in unfortunately... I had my assistant manually relate the ingredients to the recipe.

    Amazing video! I love the workflow of this whole system, thanks for making it. Excited to build it myself. I think a cool next step would be for the recipes to auto-update to adjust ingredient amounts depending on servings. I feel like it could open the door for nutrition tracking etc depending on how much of each ingredient you used/consumed. Maybe the variables get too intricate for that possibility, but it would take a bit of mental load out. And, it has the ability to connect and communicate with other elements of your Notion system. Thanks for sharing such a well thought out system!

    • @MariePoulin

      I think if you need that level of tracking, its best to use an app like Cronometer, because Notion can't do that kind of join table dynamically, so at that point you're spending a lot of time inputting/managing data.... which nobody enjoys, lol!
