The author should be subjected for case studies for young animators studying to create their own manga or anime. Freaking brilliant character development. People should learn from Yoshihiro Togashi. This man is a freaking genius.
He is actually, together with another living legend, Tite Kubo and the great Akira Amano. I'm not allowed to elaborate but those three are just that uniquely phenomenal.
Togashi deliberately watched a lot of boring Hollywood and Japanese movies when he was a kid and when he became a mangaka He figured out how to make these boring movies interesting.
I disagree to an extent. He's made a terrible habit of flooding pages with text boxes. As we see here the narrator talks waaaay too much throughout the anime. Show, not tell. Any decent writing class will tell you that. So, yes, Togashi is a brilliant writer, but it's probably not for the best to study HunterxHunter if you're starting your own manga/anime

13:20 I love that it took that special emotional connection through aura for Pouf to realise the depth of Meruem's feelings towards Komugi.... he had to feel it in his own heart to understand it and died finally, utterly defeated and entirely loyal to Meruem

The fact that Netero was prepared to use a bomb inside him was scary enough, but the fact that he had prepared a bomb that was specifically designed to POISON its victims just shows how well prepared he was in case the detonation didn't work.
Meruem was one of the very few characters in all Anime history who had a development in this level. From pure assasin and tyranic, to a benevolent creature who could understand others. In only 40 days. All thanks to Komugi. Even Netero's actions couldn't change his thoughts about humans. This arc is pure gold, my friends.

Bro I don't know why but I can't hate Pouf. The royal guards are all loyal to the King but the way show it is different. Pitou care to the feeling of the Mereum, Youpi are loyal (Idk how can i differentiate his loyalty) and lastly Pouf is loyal to the title of "King' than Meruem itself
Youpi is more like a middle ground between the two, his thoughts/point of view is more aligned with Pouf's (thinking about what's best for the king) but if given the order his actions most likely will resemble Pitou's ( do what Meruem says with no scheming involved)
Meruem is literally light speed, and not a bullshit lightspeed like Kizaru in One Piece or things like that, literally his nen is light, his name is light, Togashi is a genius, Meruem is the strongest being in HxH world at this point
Mereum developed empathy and compassion for others, that’s what pouf was afraid of and that’s why mereum didn’t punish him for keeping a sever from him. He can now see the perspectives of people below him, he can understand the “servant’s perspective”.
And pariston, the man at fault, is nowhere to be seen. Should've intervened especially after meruem's birth since it's an irregularity amongst b-ranked beasts. Maybe netero wouldn't have any reason to use the rose.
I don't remember about the anime, but the manga says this : "Gon and Gyro did not end up meeting. And Gyro left this town and disappeared somewhere. Whether that was fortunate for the two of them or not, it will remain unknown until they will eventually meet"
