Simple and straight up , the island is not for the island people anymore, it for the wealthy and tourists.
No way in hell these Keynesian economists can actually believe wages out paced inflation. Especially in Hawaii, wtf?
its all cope. they are not calculating the real rate of inflation
@@sirij8784you can never trust their statistics
Absolutely unbelievable BS
Its a bleak future for most people financially in Hawaii. Wages are not keeping up with true inflation especially considering the high cost of living. Only way is to own assets that make more money than inflation which are a few. Makes me sad to think about most local people will eventually migrate to cheaper places with more oppurtunity.
The increase in tariffs didn’t help either.🤫The dictator didn’t mention we’ll be paying more too.🤥🤷🏻♀️
@@Sharyk808 its truly sad. As someone raised here I can afford it and am blessed to be able to own a house here due to business success but I know at least in my circle i'm the minority especially among young people
I like how they blame the pandemic when it was actually government responses that caused all of this pain.
How about no growth prices go up and no pay increase since 2008.
As the population gets older and stops working, and there's a labor shortage because of people moving away, that also means that the people who are left can ask for raises/better wages and should be.
2% yay, 2¢ on the dollar...
to summarize??? the future for hawaii SUCKS!!! 😂
I know right. We don't need an economist for this
It looks like Hawaii is an economic catastrophe
I have lived in Hawaii for 22 years. I’m an RN and my wife and I payed off our house last year.😅
@@MrHAPPYHAWAIIANcongratulations
I still can't buy a house. Groceries bill still higher than it was before 2020...my rent grew 12% in the last 2 years. Can we stop with the BS?
The answer is at 5:02, less restrictions and build more. Set goals for affordable housing. Quit protesting everything.
Yes you guys definitely need more affordable housing and support from the govt, sending love from singapore
Hawaii will never learn more government doesnt mean more freedom
Thanks Democrats. Asset rich class will win inflation. The working class gets drugs to cope.
I just cannot believe how on Maui they are blaming rental owners instead of the government for the lack of housing. If you continually protest that everything is sacred and not build, why is it the fault of those who survived?
You dont need to be an "economist" to know what to expect of Hawaii's economy. MORE of the SAME flat line. Ask FORBES.
Hawaii is a bad place to live.
where's a better place to live? I keep trying to think of a better place but can't come up with one.
@@c2hawaii a lot of Hawaiian people are moving to Las Vegas
Unbelievable to hear this nonsense Holy s**t
