Just a thought, what would it be like if you cooked the chicken without the bbq sauce, just the stock, then once the 6 hour mark was reached, drain the liquid, shred the chicken, put it back in the slow cooker with the bbq sauce and seasonings, then another hour or two on low? It just seems like the bbq sauce is diluted when using the method in this video.

Yes, that would work great too. I do something similar with my orange chicken recipe. Works great.
