I've had this fan for a few years now. I picked it up off eBay for pretty cheap and was expecting one in poor condition. Turns out the seller barely used it and after a quick dusting it looked good as new! Like many others in this comments section, I also have found that it can get quite loud. Great video!
Cool! I found a larger one in the trash about a year ago and was shocked at how loud it was! It's a shame that Vornado is cheapening up, but I will find it impressive how they have kept a very similar design and blade pitch throughout all these years!
All their smaller fans seem to make a good amount of noise unfortunately. I've noticed their motors aren't as good as they used to be, I bought a new model last summer and the motor is average at best. The construction seems sturdy, and it's got the 5 year warranty, but I'm not sure the bearings will last that long. It's still a nice fan, but not nearly as strong as the older ones were.
Nice find! It looks like your’s is at least over 5 years old since it has a UL sticker. The 530 is still in production but from what I’ve been seeing, the quality has gone down a lot in the recent years. Apparently the plastic they now use is a lot more brittle and people complain about the plastic switch knob cracking and breaking off. I’ve heard the motors in these tend to lock up far more frequently than older ones. Good thing you found an older one!
This appears to be relatively well-made, and the motor bearings seem surprisingly decent. I suspect you're right about the date, I've noticed Vornado has cheapened out when it comes to bearings in the last few years.
This was the same fan I got for Christmas almost 10 years ago, except it's white. I have the original box and I had no clue it was imported until I opened the box.
My neighbors down the street from me were throwing out a vintage Lasko box fan! The fan was left along the curb for the trash service! Therefore, I decided to rescue that fan! The fan looks to be from the mid to late 90s! As it turns out, the motor of the fan is totally seized up! Also, the motor is probably burnt out as well! I was hoping to get the fan working again but now I’m not sure if it can be done! I have a few recent videos of that fan in my RUclips!

Thanks! I probably will never use this on the faster speeds, if I want more air I'll use a larger fan.
Cool fan bro i saw the white model on this fan and i might get it not sure yet but i might good video and i enjoyed it
I've seen the white model as well, I hope I find one of them too.

@@pnny-j39234 Usually worn bearings result in a shaft that's hard to turn or very noisy operation.

TheSuperFanMan Looks like Feb 2012. I didn’t realize they switched to the blue logo that long ago.

Unfortunately Vornado's been importing for quite a while now. 10 years ago their stuff was still very good quality regardless.
Nice video of the Vornado 530 Small Circulator Fan, Jordan! Surprisingly the fan is quite noisy when you do turn it up.
Thanks, Aaron! Yes, the fan was very noisy while running on the faster speeds.

A few drops of oil will likely get it going again.
The vornado fans with the red V logos are the older models while onces with the blue V logos are the newer models
