  • The highest rated fan according to wire cutter and I have to agree. Let’s check these out and see why they are worth the price. Great warranty, great construction, and effective cooling all pair together for an excellent product! Did I mention a 5-year warranty which is better than Dyson who charges more. Vornado 660 whole room air circulator and the Vornado 560 whole room air circulator compared.

    Fans AND air circulators don't lower the temperature of the air they're moving they just move it, and the air flow from these units makes the air feel cooler due to convection and evaporation.

    I've been using Vornado's large heavy duty fan for years (I have no idea where my family got it from) but I absolutely love using it as a direct fan LOL. I have a relatively small room where I can turn the fan to face either my desk chair or my bed (basically the only surfaces I can linger in) and most of the time I keep the fan on low with no problem. Vornado fans are honestly pretty awesome if used as "regular" fans instead of air circulators

    The smaller fan is likely not actually moving more air at low than the large fan, but it's going to be more focused. If you were you measure the actual CFM from the entire fan surface area, the large fan would be moving more air.

      They are great fans (But) Vornado warranty Sucks!!! They go off on their manufactured date. It's not the date you purchased on. I hope your fan works past the warranty date. To be honest, my fans (5) broke at about the 5 year mark. I can buy 2-3 fans for what Vornado charges. And it lasts 2 - 3x longer than Vornado. I have a fan that is about 12 years old. Not as good as Vornado, but it still works. I rather buy 2-3 fans, knowing it will be working past the warranty.

    • @sexypoetry
      @sexypoetry 4 года назад

      I don't have the AC..I am the tenant, not the home owner...and I have to move the house often, cause people are always jealous of me...only portable air circulators are good for me...i think that vornado is best solution for me, but i get the sour throat when it's always on...maybe i can solve the problem by directing the blast into the ceiling, that way it will dissipate better before it "hits me"...or it wont really hit me at all...it will be just a breeze all over the room...as intended...i'll see if this will stop my throat from getting soar, i have pointed the vornado higher now, well above my bed.

    • @joeb-5150
      @joeb-5150 4 года назад +1

      Yeah I think that should work for you. I'm sure the sore throats are due to the fan being directed right at you. The vornado circulates the air pretty well, so I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

  • @MattZildjian
    @MattZildjian 5 лет назад +22

    There's no way they "cool the room 10-20 degrees". Fans produce heat therefore they heat up the room. The cool feeling you get from a fan is called the wind chill effect and is caused by the moving air making sweat evaporate from your skin.

    • @jong2359
      @jong2359 5 лет назад +24

      So what your saying is: it makes the room feel 10-20ºF cooler with wind-chill. Wind-chill is a commonly understood concept, and is a meteorological-level measurement of temperature.

    • @joeb-5150
      @joeb-5150 4 года назад +6

      Fans can lower your body temperature by merely blowing air above your skin, but do nothing with the heat inside a room.

    • @LucasCarter2
      @LucasCarter2 2 года назад +2

      @@joeb-5150 I mean no, you’re not exactly right. If the air is circulating it’s equalising then heat, so if there’s a significant imbalance in some parts of the room having more heat it can technically lower the temperature for the area you’re situated in.

      Well I have both of these fans and used a digital thermometer in all four corners of the room before and after and I received a 15° drop so I don't think that is windshield they are incredible and they both have brushless motors and the engines are just about cool to the touch after 5 hours of use as I took it apart to clean it which only took about 30 seconds to accomplish
