It is still extremely expensive outside the US, the American reality for hardware differs from the reality outside the US. AM5 in some cases can be 40-50% more expensive than an AM4 platform, so if you are in the US AM5 > AM4 outside the US AM4 > AM5.
It depends, AM5 hardware is getting discounts on new and used CPU prices aren't much more than 3000/5000 series ($330 7900x, $225 5900x/3900x). Might be better to go with the 7000 series in case you decide to sell off hardware.
The one wildcard for me is trying to figure out how much hashrate from ETH was moved over to AI compute. From what I have been hearing most of the larger gpu farms are now the ones providing inference compute for AI. Assuming 10% of the peak ETH hardware is currently mining the question is how much of the 90% was home miners or how much has now moved to AI. I am split about evenly between cpu, gpu, and hd.
Are you powering all your CPU miners with ATX PSUs? I saw RedPanda is testing out some cables that allow him to use Server PSU's and a breakout board. Curious if you have any experience with something similar.
Same. Used boards aren't bad, CPUs are tough for the 3000 & 5000 series. 7000 is decent on the used market, but comes at a premium. Between 40 and 60% more for the hardware from my findings. GL, happy mining!

Yes power is expensive and yes I’m paying out of pocket. But I’m keeping my gpus running. Why? Because the look cool and it’s nice to see the hashrate 😂
"...the ETH experience was unique and while it will someday be repeated" Yes to the first, categorically *no* to the second.
