Thank you for showing the keycaps, but it would've been a much more useful review if you had put them on a board and tested how they sound and feel while typing. The font of the legends is already very visible on the product images on AKKO's website and the packaging isn't really something I'd consider an important factor on a 40$ keycap set. It's good that you measured the thickness, though.
Unfortunately, I missed the unmatched case on the modifiers in the pictures, perhaps I should have put them on a keyboard, but I wasn't going to keep them so I didn't feel like spending any more time with them. I appreciate your opinion though. Perhaps in the future I should still review whether I'm keeping them or not, but since I pay for everything I review I have to be as frugal as possible.
SAL ABS keycaps are sold as $39.99 wheras the ones that come with the collection box = $59.99. So it depends on whether you are willing to spend extra for a collection box. In the future only the ASA keycaps will be sold with the collection box.
It would be nice if the website actually communicated this. I recently purchased an Akko SA keycap set from Akko's official eBay store for $29.99 (www.ebay.com/itm/154855530971) so I expected these to come with the collection box. Also, why do the case on the legends not match?
Mind pointing out where your listing states that this set does not come in a collectors box? I mean, every other Akko keycap set I've purchased included the "collectors box". How was I supposed to be informed as a customer that this did not? Also, still quite curious, why the non-matching modifier cases?
@@Alfred-lp8vz Yes, and the keycaps have non-matching case on the legends, which I find unacceptable. Also, nothing communicated to me this did not come in a metal case, I've never seen the term "collectors box" until now,. and yes, this is a part of why I am willing to pay more. I hate keycaps that cost so much money and arrive in plastic bags or cardboard boxes. I find it tacky. There is a lot of margin for profit on keycaps, the least manufacturers could do is provide decent packaging to consumers at the loss of a few cents per set. I guess I will always side with a consumer over a corporation, call me odd.
I actually like the font of the new legends (mixing all caps with caps and lower case is weird though). The new packaging...that's a bit of a bummer. I'll have to try a set to see what I think. After all, I didn't think I'd like the Akko ASA keycaps nearly as much as I did once I got my hands on them.
If u guys didn't know. And if u all understand Chinese . I saw at a Chinese streaming platform form. Where guy review this SAL Keycap Saying they are cheaper because it's defect. And if there are no defect it sell at higher price
@@declanlee7877 I live in Malaysia I don't know about SGD but in tao Bao price is cheaper but the shipping and seller that I don't know I never shop on tao Bao before . I always buy from local seller if it's keycap that expensive. Even switch. I find that the price are similar if not even cheaper in Malaysia .
@@MechKeyboards I mean considering that their asa keycaps are about 20-30 dollars more than these SAL ones you can't really blame them for trying to save money so they can make the keycaps cheaper so that more people will buy them.
Right? I mean why would they downgrade? I'm sure there is a cost, but I'd prefer to pay a bit more for their premium packaging. This is a move in the wrong direction.

one of the reasons that made me love akko is their packaging and how reusable it is. why would they even do this!
