I was hoping the sisters husband would have gotten rid of the wife and taken up with the woman who fed and looked after him when he was sick and hungry. The wife didn't care what happened to her husband because she was following her mother's nonsense. It was a good movie. But difficult to watch.

There is NO WAY, that a mother or sister has that much access to their son/ brother's or his house as these 2 women did. There is NO way as the wife & woman of the house that she should allow this to happen or he should allow this to happen. The sister husband & the dad, can all kick rocks barefoot and get out. Not because she makes the more money, but because she is owed respect. She continually holds him down, and never throws it in his face. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor. What a greedy, ill mannered, maniputlive and the rest family. I personally would not have been able to tolerate all what Mary went through. The men in the family seemed weak to stand for what is right, which was annoying. Overall great acting and as usual Ruth is an amazing actress. Thanks to the cast and crew well done.

I started watching the movie last night, got angry and switched to another before I was half-way through. What a pair of viragoes her mother-in-law and sister-in-law were. And her spineless husband was no help, he fainted when the fracas started. He was no help at all to his wife who was making the money. The viragoes did not care that a child witnessed their disgusting behaviour in her parents' house. Mary had the patience of Job, I could not do that. I would have left the husband because I would have lost respect for him. Their behaviour was unbelievable. Curiosity got the better of me and I finished watching the movie the following day. I love Ruth and Kenneth, good actors.

The movie is interesting and ended as expected but at least we should have had a twist, why should Ada husband accept her back even after he almost lost his life? So what lesson do you want woman like Ada to learn? That they can always come back and be accepted?

If their hatred is so strong it is still there. Producer can you at least end one of these movies where the wife literally kicked them out because I know I would not and could not put up with that evil. Also you should have let the wife slapped the brother back. All who is going to say to me it's a movie, I know that but stuff like that happened in real life.

They reality is that inlaws are very toxic these days. Ones the quarrel with their brothers, they will transfer aggression to an innocent young girl.

I have gone through a few comments and to some people it appears as though they find it hard to believe that these situations exist but these things are real..
This is the reality of someone and one may wonder why would someone tolerate this kind of situation but it is for various reasons. I've seen my mom take abuse from her in-laws and to top it off my father would add his own if she says anything about it he doesn't like, sometimes he would even embarrass her and myself and siblings before them for no just reasons...so what might be foreign and strange to one person, it is the reality of someone else
