I just read this comment half way through the video and stopped watching. I was only watching to see what time they completed the trek. Now that I know they didn’t, I’m not going to finish watching. I should have figured they wouldn’t make it because it was already light out when they started.

Tape your feet with Leukoplast tejp (the beige woven one, red and white packaging. 2.5cm wide) on toes, ball and heel, it'll be like a tough extra skin. Also have a few pair of extra socks to change when your feet get moist. Tricks I learnt in the army for long walks, works well.

Some 20 years ago I walked from Nikkaluokta up to the top of Kebnekaise ( highest mountain in Sweden ) and then back. A little over 60km in mountain terrain and 36 hours awake.
With no previous experience really, and hardly any special gear.
Humans are capable of incredible things when "forced" to it.
Great job and nice to see many places I know.

You missed Mora Stenar where the first Kings where chosen in Sweden in 600AD. Also there are three farms Edebybro that was owned by my family since the 1600ds. Carl von Linné bought land from us in 1730 to build a road to his farms Edeby and Hammarby. Also Danmark is old Scandinavian and means ”low lands”. A thousend years ago the waterway from Gamla Uppsala and Vaxholm was on these nowadays farmfields. My grandfather is portrayed in the ceiling of Danmarks bygdegård.

Every year tens of thousands of people in The Netherlands walk the famous "Vijf Daagse" (Five Days) which means they walk 50 kilometers per day, four days in a row.
Walking such distances takes courage, determination and discipline and that's why most people train for it.
I think your walk is right up there.

It’s also Swedish law that if there is no sidewalk, you should, if possible, walk on the left side against traffic. The same goes on bike lanes where both bicyclists and pedestrians share the path. So it’s not just something you should just do for your personal safety. (Trafikförordningen 7 kap. 1 §)

I'm impressed! Especially considering the shoes that you used. They don't seem to be add much support at all. :)

The sign you were asking about "Tomgångskörning max 1 minut" means "Idling (with any type of motor vehicle except an electric car I guess) maximum 1 minute". You see them in most small towns and cities. 🙂

Jag är uppvuxen och bor i Sollentuna så det var galet att se att det var här det tyvärr tog stopp för dig! Lite bitter att jag inte sprang på dig när du var här. Du gick igenom mina kvarter exakt!

There were a father/son team of Hollywood directors named Christian Nyby & Christian Nyby II who made many great movies and TV shows with credits between them from the 40's to the early 2000's. They both directed multiple episodes of one of my all time fave TV programs, Adam-12. Just wanted to throw that in there while you went through Nyby. Love the episode, Meagan!

Good effort. The most I usually do is 8 to 10 miles a day hiking for work in an 8 hour day. I'm an archaeologist that works in remote areas. 80,000 steps is pretty impressive.

I confess, Tyler made me watch 😅 I have to give you a lot of credit for doing what you did and then for going back to finish 👍 I doubt I could come close without a lot of training.

Nice one Meagan! You need to put Tyler and Deev on the spot and challenge them to do it!

When I was studying at Linköping Uni and I lived in Norrköping, I walked between the towns a few times (it really hurt). Now I live in Knivsta, so it was fun to see you stop by in video. I've also walked between Uppsala and Knivsta, but walked south of the train tracks ignoring Alsike.

Your trek brought back memories of so many days from my time in the Infantry. Various marches we did would fall into each of your "fun" categories. There's always another adventure around the corner. Before your next challenge, go to some of the military sites and look under ruck marches. There, you'll be able to find tips and tricks on what one can do to save their feet during long trips.
PS: Just so you know, Tyler sent me this way to help you out. So if you'd like to, you can thank him in one of your edit notes. 😉

82,000 steps is quite an achievement!!! Maybe, do some training and try again next year. I think you did great, i think for my after I reach my physical limit, I still have my mental reserve to work through as well. So it's a mind, also physical battle of attrition.
