What's crazy about this view? EVERYTHING !!! The view is so incredibly humongous ....huge! The airplanes just look like tiny paper airplanes gliding in and out. To think that when you get up close to the massiveness of how big they really are it's mind boggling. I always think, how do the skies handle all the planes every day , all the time.... And then when looking at this picture everything kind of makes sense as of just how VAST the skyways are. God we as people are grains of sand compared to everything in this world.
This is probably the best spotting videos I have ever seen , without a doubt . Fantastic video , I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed that location . Please do come back someday to visit :)

Welcome to the best location. You've found my filming spot damn it but still well done, i'm glad you did find it. I like it when people search for good spots like i did :). I first went back last march but they closed the track because of repairs then i went in june and still closed but finished repairs so i had to find another way. Finally after a week of waiting for sun, i got up there for 45 minutes before this crazy cloud and weather came in, thunder was heard and i pushed my way back down the hill. it brightened up again after 30 minutes but it was scary being exposed and thinking of lightning

It's an addictive mountain for me and really the only place that i feel i can film and feel happy about. I took an umbrella with me to protect against the sun and i think i was more exposed where i was standing which is why i left too.
I went up there a couple of weeks ago, but the view was obscured with grass. Is it the helipad next to the cable car pylon? Or did I get the location completely wrong XD

I think this is the first video I’ve seen Hong Kong operating in that configuration. 99% of the live feeds I catch are off the 25L/R config

I notice that you start to hear the jet taking off about 6 seconds after you start seeing them accelerate at the beginning of the runway. How far away were you from that point of the runway?
It was quite far away. Can't say exactly but i'd guess like 2-4 kilometers.
It is really an amazing view! I've just been in Hong Kong last week but when I went to Lantau Island, I could not find this position for spotting. I just had an awesome view from the cable car! Where is it exactly?

How is it that you get to the end of the runway first yet others come from behind and get to depart ahead of you? I am guessing there is some hidden reason that i don't know about.
Great vision but as is often the case zooming out a bit more from the plane could better set context, scale, perspective. Looking at the same plane, filling the frame for a while - where nothing really changes - loses its appeal. Just saying... (humble opinion and all that)
Awesome spotting from HK! Where is the location on the hills? How to get there by car/bus? Is 600mm zoom lens long enough from the spot?
Thank you! I used 1300mm small frame at that spot. And you can't get there by bus or car! You need to walk - or jump from a helicopter 😂

i do agree you but i prefer not to hike up the mountain to film but stay at the airport terminal, there is a place to spot planes up close. :)
