I took one of these company jets in 2006. The older 737's can land on the gravel runways of the Arctic, in this case a nickel mine near the northern tip of Quebec (Nunavik territory). You will see protectors on the landing gear. We don't want gravel bits damaging landing gear or engine inlets - older 737's are good for this type of environment.
