Wow. If this is not the most excellent instructional video on RUclips, there isn't one. This is exceedingly excellent. Thank you so much for your time and HOW you showed us. I'm not even waiting to see the other videos you teach; I'm a new subscriber for life. Thank you a million times. Well done.
Thank you Jeffrey for the support! I try to do my best. It has just been in the last year or so that I discovered a formula that works for my teaching videos. I have gone back to redo a few of my earlier videos. Let me know if you have any questions. Hal
Super! Took me three weeks to get this one but way worth it!! Love the song; always have and now I can play along THANKS to this instruction!! I cannot thank you enough!! New subscriber!
Absolutely the best tutorial for this song on RUclips! I've been looking for a good tutorial that sounds like the Doobies version. This is it!!!!!!! I'm planning on spending sometime on this one!! Thanks Hal!!!! I've wanted to learn to play this song since it came out Thanks again!
wonderful, Hal. Thank you. I've been going hard on the Doobie Brothers during the pandemic and this is one my all time favourites. Now it's practice, practice, practice.
This is great to hear Geoffrey. What I mean is, I'm glad you are learning South City Midnight Lady and that you like my video so much, NOT that we have a pandemic. :)
Just saw you have a performance video of this too. You may want to consider adding a link from your lesson videos to performance videos and vice versa. Thanks!
Not to be negative, but you need to put this lesson into sections and review those sections. Please, play a section, review a section and move on. Your chording is correct and precise but I found it very frustrating the way you put it all together, or as I said, did not put it all together. Thank you though, your voicings were spot on and I really enjoyed and learned from that.
This is a good comment. I've been thinking on changing my presentation lately. If you've been paying attention to my channel, I've been putting out a cover of every song that I've been teaching and then a lesson video. The cover is not to be taken as a really good performance, but just as a song example. Let me know what you think of the next video and see if my style improves. thanks, K Price. Hal

Yep, very thorough, I can actually follow and learn, thank you.
The Captain and Me is such, such a classy album. I played it over and over while in high school. It never gets old
Hello Juan, me too. Love that album!
Thanks, I’ve watched four or five other tutorials on this song before yours and none of them got close to showing it as well as you have.

If they can’t figure out how to tune the guitar to open G then won’t be able to learn this. Great job with the sound. Very nice!

How do you like that blue ridge guitar? If that an OM size? Sounds great for finger picking
Thankyou!
You're welcome Mark.

Didn't I do that? Let me go check... My end screen has a link but I didn't put in a card. Perhaps I should.
G tuning. Actually plays thru song at approx 16:30 with section breakdowns
Yes, thanks.
Dead on!
Hi! Trying to figure out the introduction for the ukulele… Could you name the chords that you’re playing please in the introduction?
Oh, I think it’s a variation of g and c
I hadn't thought about doing that on Ukulele. It might be interesting. Let me get out my ukulele. ;)
Your on the 5th fret indicating a C9 on the 1st fret, other than that you have a fine video here.
Thanks John. I see you have made several comments. I'll check out what I did.
you indicate the C9 on the first fret, INCORRECT.
At what time in the video John?

Your on screen charts are incorrect.
Are they? You want to set me straight?
