Hi, this was the process earlier however starting 1 Jan 2025 BRP is not a valid document in most situations. Instead you need to give them your share code. You will receive a form by post and you can write your sharecode on that and return it by post. You don’t need to submit a physical document. But if at all you want to, you can send your passport along with the form.
Advise: Kindly dont sent your BRP card from Jan 01, 2024 onwards its not valid. This goes for share code starting with "W"as well, the application will be rejcted/ returned. They only accept share code starting with "S". Send your Passport with Visa stamp as it'll work.
Yes you can just write your sharecode on the application form and send it. To check if you have sharecode starting with S you need to check gov.uk site. Which visa are you currently on in UK? Make sure this is sharecode which proves your immigration status in UK and its not a sharecode for right to rent or right to work. If you write the sharecode in the application you do not need to submit physical document.

can we write just share code? shoud we need to send expired BRP or Passport?
