  • This video contains a clip of Professor Cheng doing “Deflect Downward, Parry, and Punch,” an opinion of why he lowered the punching arm before the punch and why that is a good way to practice it, followed by a demonstration of a way to recognize and experience the natural, relaxed intermotion of the forearm and upper arm in the punch.

I started studying with T.T. Liang in 74' I was a karate student and at 86 T.T would leave his studio in Boston to come to our class in Malden. I am now 70 myself and really enjoy your videos. I've been working on the right side and left side for years off & on. When T.T. Liang had classes at the park on Saturday mornings I also attended those. Good to hear you mention his name.
