Mr Chirs I just want to thank you for your videos they have help me a lot I’m 63 and I have cancer that is spreading I’ve lost a kidney is how it all started and in case I don’t get a chance to say thank you later am doing it now cause your videos have helped me some what keep my mind off of what’s coming so THANK YOU 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍P.S I’m going to keep watching
Good luck and courage Monsieur Bass 167. I'm 69 myself and don't feel that good neither. I lost my wife on June 10th this year, and now feel so alone. Our good young friend here does good for my brain and spirit one 1/2 hour at the time. Peace to you, sir. 😇

Me to I'm 60 with cancer they can't cure and love the videos. I also got to watch my lake dam being repaired over this summer. Hoping to build A small cabin on it to Finnish my life in.
10,000 views in 50 minutes... I love this channel. Thank you, Chris, for everything you do for us. The time you spend every day chasing and placing cameras.. the hours upon hours of editing every week.. from all of us, thank you sir.
I work in civil engineering, seeing a pond operation during construction helps so much to visualize how designs on paper are constructed in real life. Nice work
Sir you do a holy work, you dig down to the root of the problem. You give a dam and you take a dam away. Such sage words. You dig deep to find the problem and when you are done the hole job is done. Can you dig it?
Yes Chris, it's tricky making out the cut depth in the dam wall. It came clear as the Volvo rolled over the edge and later the angle of the truck. Beautiful misty morning, that muffled the sound of machines for the neighbors. All good.
I love Chris's videos. The best thing about dirt moving videos is that you can watch a 30 minute video in 5 minutes and miss absolutely nothing. The 15th shovel full is the same as the first, the 8th truck load, the 1000th tree, the 50th pass with a dozer.
Good plan and good execution of the plan. Great to see you do the job and able to handle the meticulous moves with your machines. tks for taking us along. Learn a lot from your videos.
Chris wears a multitude of hats but the one I enjoy most is the one that says “Lets go cut it out” ….lol…Like a dirt doctor on a mission…lol. Great Job Chris.
Yesterday I sayed to my self, that ponddam looks very loos groundwise, and today you confirmed my thoughts. I enjoy your flogs and learn a thing or two in the proces. Great work 👍
Yeah Chris I agree, when a plan comes together, everything goes smooth, awesome work saving the existing pipe to drain the rest of the water, thanks for sharing awesome videos Chris, 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
It is a shame that there wasn't a better way to take care of the dam and creek. Having a large pond is a dream of mine. You always to great work though. I just prefer to see a pond being built or dredged. Thanks for what you do
M often wonder if the narrating whilst in the cab is basically a really cheap and extremely efficient form of therapy….. Talking to yourself, because let’s face it, the job only gets done right when you do it yourself. 👌🏻👍🏻
It looks like the original builder didnt even put a core trench in? No wonder they're considering it a hazard. I'm amazed things held up as well as they did.
Ms. Grace, from all the things pointed out in the first vid, ruclips.net/video/YCILkuFJNJM/видео.html, I definitely agree w/ your assessment. The shame is if the pond had been properly built, and/or reconstructed and maintained the state may NOT have declared it hazard. In its current state, not only would the highway be severely damaged , the houses and properties on the other side would have, too! 😬😬
I'm still lost on the purpose of this project and why you are doing what you are doing. Looks like a perfectly good pond to me, lol...I understand in previous videos when you drain the pond so you can cut through a dam, remove the old pipe, then lay down some new drainage pipe, but I don't see you doing that here. Anyway, another great video, and will look for the next one. Update: Maybe I spoke too soon, lol...Seems like that's exactly what you are doing, hahaha. I don't know why I was so confused, maybe I missed Chris's explanation at the start of part 1? Anyway, interesting technique with such a huge pond dam and trying to get the water drained out.
I believe that you have some of the best well kept maintenance wise equipment available. They don’t make a ton of other noise like a lot of the others that need a grease job, or something else. Great videos and thank you for sharing your jobs.👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great job buddy. You are right, elevation is impossible to judge with the camera. I got a feel for it when you walked up the side of the dam. I thought wow, couldn’t see that at all. Thank you for sharing with your fans.
Well that pond will make a great sand trap if they build a golf course! ;) But thanks for starting to number these Chris, trying to follow older threads have been a problem
👍on the numbering. Still going to look for the start of this series, so I can find out why the dam has to go; some comments say the state declared it a hazard, others say the owner (liability?). I want to see what Chris said.
Day 2 start in break of day. With the Volvo beginning you the Dam from the outside to breaching and the pipe free to lay. You to control the excavator excellence and have all under observe. To this work, you and John a playing team. The breaching is good to go. Glad my of the next video 👌
Fantastic videos. The only thing i would request is the audio of your voice vs the machine in the background, if you could edit that so you are louder that would be cool
Another great video Chris it’s gonna look good when y’all get through with it so you and John and yawls family stay safe and keep the videos coming buddy
Lol... I was fretting about all the fish and was going to ask what, if anything, they do/could do about that, and then Chris said luckily there wasn't any. Whew!
So Chris I must have missed it, but why decrease the property value with a deep and large pond and remove it?? Love the work, I wish you would do how to operated video, it’s hard to see your hands because it’s so fast and smooth.
I believe it was state demanded due to the Highway being too close and the design/age of the damn structure. It impounded a lot of water almost entirely HIGHER than the level of the roadway - they perceived it as a huge safety issue too expensive to bring to acceptable standards. Correct me if I’m wrong…
State declared it a Hazard / forced demo... So it goes by by... ( As Larry Walker said previously ) It had partially failed once and subsequently was "repaired". But the State of North Carolina deemed it a "high risk of failure" installation that could potentially cause flash flooding to at least 1 local highway and affect an unknown population downstream with property damage and loss of life. The state ordered it to be removed.
Don't ya love it Chris , When a plan goes just perfect !! lololol... Don't always goes as planned...lol..Man, You and Unk got a lot of dirt out of there, That's a hell of a hole ya got there !! lolol... Great as always , Have a Great Evening, and , On too the Next !!

Just curious but you commented at the start of this video that the siphon you had put in to drain the pond down only took it down 10 inches way less than you need to finish this job. Why don't you install 2 siphons on such a large projects. Im just curious???
I suppose the elevation of the pond to the left of the post you was time stamping is probably lower. Levels are deceiving, but when you put the excavator bucket down that far. It's pretty noticeable. Good series of videos.
It's definitely moving in the right direction. Watched at normal speed this and others like it are a good, relaxing pause with a coffee. That takes the pressure from the rest of the day. Thanks for it Chris. Be well. :o)
I'm curious on why the didn't fix the incorrect overflow issue verses doing the dam removal? Maybe it's in the works but this needed to be done 1st for safety issue's

Yes sir, the dirt rolling off the haul truck as it sits on an uphill slope. More trips for sure. Good thing it was short drive.
Thanks Chris for all you share about ponds and others things. It's so interesting.
Such a pretty place. Some smart planning

The material coming out of the dam is better than I expected on this deceptively huge pond.

That's a real small bucket for what he is doing .
Assuming that lake is one acre, an inch of water is 27,000 gallons, so I would say it's moving plenty fast 😊
I'm curious on why the didn't fix the incorrect overflow issue verses doing the dam removal? Maybe it's in the works but this needed to be done 1st for safety issue's
it is almost worth putting in two types of pipes, like a big 16 inch pipe that can drain the pond to bottom and over flow pipe
That pipe move reminded me of a certain “egg “ challenge
Hope we don't have to do another one of those :-)
