District 4 used to be the hood before the major redevelopment. So even though it looks nice now with the beautiful river bench walk ways, the elements of the hood are still there. The neighbors and people in that area are pretty rough around the edges.

    The rich in Vietnam will live in villas in urban areas near the center and often have very large villas in the countryside where they were born. High-end apartments are more suitable for young people with mid-range incomes, low-income workers will be located in suburban areas, in small alleys but with amenities such as drug stores, markets, restaurants, and public parks available in the area. everywhere. Owning a home is a priority for every Vietnamese family. They will try to own it instead of renting it. The home ownership rate in Vietnam is over 90%. Vietnam has a comfortable life for all types of income, super rich people and average income people can drink coffee or eat at the same small restaurant. They care about delicious food, not luxurious space. You will also see super rich people wearing shorts and t-shirts riding old motorbikes drinking on the side of the road, it is normal in Vietnam. Foreign media has a very negative view of Vietnamese people's lives, we don't care, the government wants people's lives to be happy and politically stable, but the connected world has many problems. Many digital natives or backpackers experience and take their lives abroad. When we go abroad, many people ask us if we have internet? We will humorously answer them no, we send mail by pigeon haha

    If you want to afford living in VN, you have to be a youtuber or an internet influencer. If you are working as a regular factory employee, you wont be able to afford this life.
    Dont go to VN, unless you have at least $100k in a saving acct and a plan to open ur own shop/restaurant/business

    I'm mean, considering average salary of a officeman in Saigon (not including government-related job, cus that is wayyy lower) is around 6-700$/month, this, is a luxury 😂 I see yall commenters are also American rant about American housing price, just know that we Vietnamese are the same 😂😂 Except that we don't have options for any poorer country to escape to. Just have to survive :((

    • @MinhNguyen-ti5yb
      @MinhNguyen-ti5yb 10 месяцев назад

      there are a ton of poorer countries to escape to. Vnese are just too picky and all dream about America. Check Mozambique, there's a whole Vnese community there and their business runs very well.

    it's just about 10x the normal salary of a Vietnamese living in Vietnam (a month !! yes a month !)... Could you imagine paying your apartment 10x (same size and same options !) of an average salary in your country ? You understand that it's a ripoff building in Vietnam... Ask your neighbors next to your apartment how much they pay... (please ask Vietnamese neighbors)...

    • @yeschefwithchadkubanoff

    Hm... Although nice flat you got, it's nothing that really surprises me /-: ... I live in Malta and pay 1,600 Euros monthly for a 204 m² 3-bedroom flat, fully furnished. Finishing here and there could get an improvement, e.g. worn-off silicone, which needs to be replaced, but I don't mind minor things like worn-out silicone in the bathroom. The sea with the little bay beach is no further than 20 meters. However, good luck in Vietnam, though.

    Well done on the video!
    GF lives in Phú Nhuận at the moment. I really like the area. Old style, but so many cafés, restaurants, near the canal for walks and of course near Quận 1.
    But it's just a stop gap place. Looking for something more permanent now. $1250 I find expensive, but arguably one can't fault the reasons you gave.
    GF wants to buy a house, but a friend (another Sài Gòn YTer) pointed out that build quality/maintenance can be iffy, even in high value places. He pointed out it's better to rent and then change every 5 years or so when the flaws and 'wear and tear' is starting to show‼️
    Thoughts❓

    I live in Melbourne, Australia , $1300 usd is about $2000 Australia dollars , this is the average rental of a good house with 3 bedroom or 4 bedrooms . Compare to living standard and wages in VN $1300 / month is very expensive only for the rich peoples can afford.

    $1300 u can’t even get a studio in San Francisco 😂. An apartment like that would be around $8000.00 to 10,000.00 a month here in San Francisco.

  • @mauvehawaii
    @mauvehawaii 10 месяцев назад

    1300 is like 2 bedrooms (+ kitchen, bathroom, living room) in some places in canada. so if you're in a country with such weak currency and weaker social programs, healthcare, infrastructure etc. and pay that much, i don't see it's that good despite the size.

    Is this sky89 apartment?. I also live here. I am paying around 15m ~ 600 usd for 2BR 72m2 river view furnished. LoL I dont think 3BR wont cost like this. It is a rip off.
