Just ordered mine! Because of all the feedback here, I emailed them asking them to please not forget my blue plates. Only color I care about arriving with my shipment. Appreciate the review and feedback!
Thanks for the review video . I wish that Rep would come out with a functional trainer like that but add a Smith machine bar into it like the Inspire FT2.
Thanks. I think this is the first review. I ordered one recently after looking at like 10 options. Should arrive within a few weeks. The FTX from Costco is $500 less, but I think REP adds some nice touches like aluminum pulleys, pullup bar, peg board. Every REP product I have is very solid so I feel confident about it. I worry about the height as far as tricep pulldowns, but that's an issue with all of these home trainers. I'm considering building a platform to increase the height by 6-12".
GREAT REVIEW! Did you even consider the FT3000 & if so what made you decide on the Arcadia? Seriously thinking of this for my garage gym, especially for my wife and kids to use. Have you used it for leg exercises as well?
The FT3000 isn't available anymore. Looks like this one replaced it. I have the FT3000 and it works great. The weights go to 93lbs so it's a little light for single stack pulls
I think it depends on what you have in your gym already and how much room. Athena is great but I have a Pugh rack in my gym so I wanted just a dedicated cable machine.
Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative review. Do you have any issues getting full range of motion on triceps pushdowns, and would you say the stretch on cross-overs is adequate, given the Arcadia's compact footprint? Finally, if it's not too personal of a question...how tall are you? Just asking to get an idea of size comparison of the machine and machine user. Thanks again.
So I am 6 foot. I can do triceps push down no problem but usually I use my lat pull-down machine for it since it is taller. Like I said though doing them is fine. Crossover stuff is great in my opinion I get full range of motion. Thanks for watching
nice review, I think I'm convinced now, I was between this model and their FT-5000 2.0. I love doing horizontal cable presses using a bench and I tend to like narrow distances between the trollies so you don't have to overly converge on your presses and don't weird shoulder forces. How many inches was it from trolley to trolley? Do you think the extra weight upgrade would be beneficial if you like performing 2-arm rows and pulldowns using a lat bar?
I would say if you need it for rows and lat pulls you might want extra weight if you lift heavy. I feel like the weight is plenty. I’ll have to get back to you any other question. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the review! I just received the main shipment today - gotta wait a few days to get the other two weight stacks which ship from a different location. What has your favorite movement on this been so far?
Thank you for the informative video. Have you tried a cable chest fly? Any issues with the chest fly or other exercises with your height? BTW your video is helpful as rep chose a model that was 5'5" to demonstrate it. I am less concerned about the pullup bar height as I already have a rack that has one. Just concerned about the cable exercises and height.
I was at REPS Showroom in Carlisle, PA. yesterday. I stand at 5'9" and was standing erect and doing Tricep rope pushdowns without issue. There are no issues with any configuration of chest flys either.
Thank you for the video. Two questions if you don't mind: Would you consider it to be difficult to disassemble and move from a basement gym to a new location if at some point you were going to sell your house and move? Second question: I have a lat machine with low pulley but would not have room to keep the lat machine if I got this. Would this be something you could see yourself depending on for pulldowns and low pulley rows even though it isn't set up for pulldowns or low pulley rows with a seat or foot brace?
So for the move I would not want to have to do that but yes I don’t think it would be to hard. As for the lat pull low row. I would say if I had to pick out of the two I would go with the cross over machine. You can do lat pulls and low row with it. The lat pulls won’t be perfect but you can do them. There is so much more that you can do with this machine that I would make it the priority over the two. Thanks for watching.
@@azuwhr For that to be correct, you'd have to use the micro weight without pinning any of the stacks. Is that possible? Or do you have to pin at least one stack for the pulleys to work? Is the 1st stack 10 lbs?
Howdy - Did you end up get the red plates? I didn't get mine and they just sent me 1. Said I would have to pay for 3 more. That makes no sense to me at all.
Thanks for getting back to me. Well at least you got 2! They need to be more transparent on the issue on the webpage. I am not paying for more. Going to spray paint the chrome ones red.
@@danharbison6203 good idea I might do the same since there are technically 4 plates. Yeah there quality control isn’t that great. I ordered a bench and it was missing a piece. Luckily they sent to me

I’m 6ft and did tricep push downs
I just ordered one and am planning to place two 2x6's under each leg. That will raise the machine an additional 2 1/2".
Thx for posting the first detailed review. Currently planning ordering after New Year's 🎉
Nice compact piece of kit. Thanks for the review.
Looks like a nice piece. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks

Check out the FAQ and the REP Arcadia page. It describes the upgrades on the Arcadia. That convinced me.

Nice review!! Thanks for sharing
I wasn’t aware these were out yet. Nice gym and video
Thanks. I ordered and it said it would be coming Dec 6 and then a week later they said it was ready. Thanks for the watch.
Thanks for the video. Still unsure if I should go for this or Athena.

Great review! 👍
Thanks! 👍
Great review. Mine ships December 6th and this video hyping me up.
Glad to hear it. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the review! I just received the main shipment today - gotta wait a few days to get the other two weight stacks which ship from a different location. What has your favorite movement on this been so far?
Definitely chest exercises. I love seated flat bench with it.
Thanks for the review! How big is the total footprint and how large a space is needed to fully use it? Thank you.
It’s about 81 inches high. Front about 53 inches and back 24 inches. Comes out about 3 feet from the wall.
Thanks!

Yeah chest fly is not problem I show it towards the beginning and of the video

Thanks for the review! I am very interested in this piece of equipment for my basement gym.
It’s a great size
What do you think is the recommended ceiling height for this setup?
It’s like as long as you have a couple inches above the height of the machine you’ll be good. I think it’s about 81 inch high
Hey Guru! I just got the exact same machine and I'm having trouble finding where the assembly paperwork is. Any idea where I should look?
I think it was in with the screw and was real thin. I almost missed it
I’m waiting for tbe 5000 series of this FT. Do you feel you can get a full range of motion with doimg chest fly’s?
Absolutely did them today and was great
Looking to buy for my small space home gym. Could you please tell me how far the end of the front leg is from the back?
No more then 3-4 feet
Awesome review! What is the minimum load able weight? Is it 5 pounds?
I think it’s 2.5
@@azuwhr For that to be correct, you'd have to use the micro weight without pinning any of the stacks. Is that possible? Or do you have to pin at least one stack for the pulleys to work? Is the 1st stack 10 lbs?
Ok so I guess I misread the question. So the min I think would be 7.5 pounds. One plate plus the extra 2.5 that slides down.
Can you do a seated row with this machine?
You can but one side might not be enough weight. You would need a piece to connect the two sides.
Is it secured to the wall or is it freestanding?
It’s freestanding, not bolted to the ground or the wall. If you check my Instagram, I show a little demonstration of it.
Howdy - Did you end up get the red plates? I didn't get mine and they just sent me 1. Said I would have to pay for 3 more. That makes no sense to me at all.
Yeah they sent me two plates total in red. It’s a bit confusing

Do you have any opinion on the Inspire machines ?
No sorry never really looked into it.
can youj do bench press?
Yup I don't incline and flat all the time. For flat I just sit straight up and for incline I obviously incline the bench.
Hey bud, what tools did you need to put this together?
I believe it was just a ratchet and hex tool. I don’t remember the sizes though. Nothing special.
Hi, nice review, it looks good! Can you tell me how many inches are there between the two pulley posts? THANKS
hows it holding up and what are your opinions of it after using it for awhile?
I use it all the time and love it. It's brought so much to the gym for different exercises. Holding up great
