    As an owner of a Pitzmann II and III, both watches I enjoy a lot, my biggest criticism of this New quartz Overture:
    1. Case is way too derivative of the Grand Seiko 44GS
    2. The round hour marker idicies gets lost in the circle dial pattern making legibility at a glance a real pain

    Great review on watch. Impressed with the ETA quartz movement, reminds me of the Bulova Precisionist movement.

    I’m with you Peter; that dial is wayyy to busy and distracting to be able to read the time.
    But, a high accuracy quartz movement, is very interesting.
    Thanks for sharing my friend!

    Wow, this is nice! I would say it's almost perfect. I do hope Pitzmann takes in all your suggested refinements, Peter. I can see myself getting one once those improvements are in. I would add that maybe tapering the bracelet to 16 mm along with proportionally doing that for the clasp would make this watch better and more comfortable to use.
    I also wouldn't mind seeing an automatic version of this, perhaps using the SW300 with the updated 56 hour PR. Having optional plain and fume dials would also work wonders.

    Thanks for the review Mr. Kotsa, it’s a really lovely watch, shame to hear about the finishing issues though. I’d like to ask: I know you are quite fond of Chronographs, have you seen the new Lorier Olympia? It’s a fully automatic chronograph under 14mm thick for under 1000$ using the SE88 movement; I’d figure you might fancy a look. Anyway have a nice day, thanks again for the review. Cheers!

    It’s an interesting novelty watch. I like that Pitzmann has used quartz here. It wouldn’t get a lot of my wrist time but overall the watch looks good and seems well-designed. I’d really consider buying it. My only hesitation is noise around the brand’s customer service.

    • @Carlsonrufer
      @Carlsonrufer Месяц назад +2

      Will not try to return it, so I cannot say how they would handle that. But I changed the delivery address, asked them to adjust it to my wrist size and had a question about the specs. Each time the answered in due time, gave all information and acted as asked. So, my experience concerning customer support was very good.

  • @benjaminvis
    @benjaminvis Месяц назад +1

    I think aesthetically they've once again done great. The inspiration from the Celebration is distant at best for me, whereas I see the urban elegance of diffracting light in raindrops on a window. In contrast, I'm not sure what Rolex was going for in its dials. In your footage it would seem as if the colours blobs have some texture to them, which is wonderful. The overall styling of the watch is just a little sporty for me and I also don't tend to go for quartz even if long duration and precision mitigate some of my lack of connection with the technology. The sharp finishing is definitely a noteworthy point of critique and a pity that has happened. Hopefully they'll be able to rectify that in any new batches.

  • @TheGrandSeikopath
    @TheGrandSeikopath Месяц назад +3

    I'm trying to recall any other microbrand with a HAQ watches available in their lineup and nothing comes to my mind. Hopefully you'll manage to sort out these sharp edges, and you have a strong contender to fight with anti-quartz snobbery.

    I really like deployant clasps, but when they fail to chamfer the edges it really does adversely impact the comfortability of the watch. Considering their usual quality and attention to detail, I'm surprised that Pitzmann overlooked this problem.

    Interesting watch but dial design that will appeal more to design fans than people like me who like (or need) to know what day it is and the precise time without being disturbed. In addition, Seiko produced these hyper-precise calibers half a century ago, what a feat from ETA!! The same with a monochrome dial and date, and a little cheaper, I'll buy it. But not there. Thanks Pete for this original review.😉👍

    Got the watch for a few days. Really love the design, especially the dial. Very high value looking thing. Quite sparkly in fact. Indeed a conversation starter. Couldn’t imagine a better watch for a night out at a cocktail bar. Also don’t get Rolex celebration vibes. Rather unique design imo. BUT not for for everyday wear because of the sharper edges at both bracelet and case. It’s quite a pity cause everything else is fantastic.

    Specs look great, not very legible is what struck me straight away. Pity about the clap finish as the mechanics of the adjustment look really good with the push button activation.,Quartz makes sense & kudos for using an ETA instead of a cheaper option. Not sure if people buying this watch would be bothered about high accuracy though, what do you reckon Pete? Which A league team out of interest? Cheers brother.
