obsidian shard/spear of desolation
poly/soul
can get his 1 and 3 to do 1k damage and his ult 2k (and with sunder+poly a basic could so 1.5k in a basic).
you build everything wrong order, not the worst build if you build oshard earlier and lifesteal basically always

why never use the ethereal staff and do 5% heath with an ability every 10 seconds instead of 10% every 40 seconds

SmokePit 13 but he is not going for burst, he is going for one hit. As fuunku said, soul reaver does true damage, which ignores protections, while ethereal does magical damage, which has to pass through protections. your soul reaver can proc for 200 on average, but ethereal barely hits for 75 on average

WHAT IS WRONG WITH DOUBLE STACKING
itsthosehour s just takes longer to complete your build when there are other items that give you more power earlier in game like bancrofts talon
It's not inherently terrible once you finally finish all your stacks, but that's the problem. It takes even longer to get all those stacks, which slows down your power spike even more than single stacking would. Essentially, if you double stack, you're telling you're teammates, "Hey guys, I plan on being useless until at least after 20 minutes into the game. Also, sorry I can't be in team fights I need to farm as many minions as possible." Not to mention there's the implication on game modes like clash where someone else may be stacking and you end up stepping on their shoes the whole time. All this can easily be avoided if, as the previous commenter said, you get items with high power values/good passive that don't need stacking like bancroft's talon, spear of desolation, ethereal staff, gem of isolation, etc.

TBH I don't think double stacking is bad if you're getting all the minions. Like you're Zhong Kui, Kukulkan, Vulcan, etc. (Not saying I do this but they are mages that get all the minions most of the time). The thing is that double stacking is bad when the other team is too aggressive or your team is too aggressive. If you're playing a game with both teaming just farming minions for the most part, then I think double stacking is pretty powerful. If you're double stacking while you're entire team is dying because the enemy is too aggressive and you just get murdered and everyone falls behind or if you're team is too aggressive and they all die because you can't really go off because you're double stacking.
In my personal opinion, I think that double stacking is fine as long as the game is going fine. I do it on Kukulkan because of his passive that works great with Book of Thoth and Warlock Sash to get some health and other benefits. I don't know if double stacking on hunters or other classes works (even if you can do it to get a pretty powerful build with it).
