fuck my mom's computer was so cheap and terrible the processor couldn't take the game and it didn't have enough memory so there wasn't buildmode, the loading screen would always take like 10-20 minutes to finish loading and the game would eventually crash frequently unless I deleted a bunch of families and homes. Somehow though, I still had fun.

I played sims 2 for the first time recently after picking up double deluxe at a thrift store, and this song just smacked me into another dimension like some bizarre form of proto-enlightenment.
Even after two newer installments, The Sims 2 continues to be the god-tier game of the entire franchise. (I will admit, the toddlers in Sims 4 and the open world in Sims 3 were pretty neato)

That's not to say I didn't like a lot of the things they added in Sims 3, but it wasn't near as good overall, it was missing some key elements that the 2nd had. Hue-Man No you can! It's just a little bit more confusing than sims 2, it took me a long time to figure it out! So if you go to your regular game with the family you have, you know how you can edit town? Well when doing that you can choose a different household or family to switch over to or you can create a new family, place them in the city from the dashboard and then switch over to play with them. The only downer that happens is that you lose the current families wishes, but those aren't all that important (unless you were planning to fulfill them or your sim is going through a midlife crisis and has to have them completed right away!) I really hope that helped!
And of course if you want to go back to that initial family again, just edit town and switch over whenever you want! Only thing different from sims 2 is that your family will of course age while you're playing with another family because it's an open world game. :)
