Last Day of Service for Southern Class 455s (& 'The Metro Marauder' Farewell Tour) - 14 & 15/05/22

- Video: A compilation of the last ever Class 455s to serve the Southern network after 39 years of service, as well as 'The Metro Marauder' farewell tour passing through various stations along the network.
The stations I filmed at were: Horsham, Three Bridges, Burgess Hill, Brighton, London Road (Brighton), London Charing Cross (unfortunately with limited footage, courtesy of the rude station staff kicking all spotters off the platform), Waterloo East, London Blackfriars, Crofton Park, Denmark Hill, and then finally London Victoria in late night/early morning for the final passenger services.
NOTE - Because the last services crossed pass midnight to 0025, that is why the title says '14 & 15/05/22'

It’s been many years since a Southern train has been seen in Charing Cross and Waterloo East! They used to run to Caterham & Tattenham Corner via Sydenham and certainly the first time a 455 has been seen in Blackfriars!

Great railway video, sad to see this train stock about to be retired.
Are Southern going to start replacing the Class 313 any time soon and to replace them with Class 377s or Clasd 376s cascaded from Southeastern.
Replaced? Yes, just not with 376s (that rumour never had any backing), and while some of SE's 377s are transferring to Southern there will be no direct 1:1 replacement for the 313s.
Wait- they're going out of service?!
If so, man. I'll miss them
swr ones are still around until the 701s enter service. the swr ones however don't sound as good as the southern ones did

@@maimadha i don't know exactly how long but they'll be withdrawn as soon as the 701s enter service which is expected to be sometime during 2024
