I just wonder who the first person to do this is... and why? Imagine just sitting down with a piece of paper and coming up with this! Also it's beautiful to watch hands delicately creating.

And consider that this isn't at all an advanced design. Origami can get VERY complicated. You have to have the spatial awareness of a gifted engineer to be able to come up with some origami designs. Even something as simple as a crane, is difficult to come up with for almost everyone, but someone did it once upon a time
Me: goes out to buy origami paper, maybe it'll take 30 minutes for myself to make one. Unbelievably proud of myself. Gifts each of my friends with a chocolate inside.
Friends: opens it, eats the chocolate, crunches the origami diamond box in one hand and makes a 3 pointer into the garbage can like they're Stephen Curry
My heart: exactly like how the origami box felt in their hand when they scrunched it up
This honestly takes real patience and great focus on lining up everything together. I applaud anyone with this hobby.

Maybe you can save your hard work for someone who appreciates it. I learned the hard way also. I hand made my friend a Christmas card. Took me an hour to decorate it. She loved it but I later found out that she had ripped the angel embellishment off the front to keep and threw the rest out a few days after I gave it to her. I was mortified and couldn't understand why she would deface it and not bother to keep the rest of the card. I've never bothered to make her anything since lol

Oh my, my nerves... I faild big time with this one.... I can't to do the final 3D part. I even cheat with the glue but no luck :D
I think i will make it on x'mas for hanging tree. After watched i gave up my thinking. Cannot do for sure Lol
I would only do this for people that I knew would appreciate the value of the piece as a work of art! Perhaps creating the box as a Christmas ornament. ❤️

I'm planning Christmas already as it is a big deal in my family. Every year we hang sweets on our tree and every year we're struggeling how to do that. Now the struggles have come to an end. Thank you for making our Chtistmas even better!💕

Many thanks for sharing... hugely helpful. Took me months to get any growth ......guess doesn't cut it up finely at the beginning!!!! But I will from now on. Again thank you. By the way I use sphagnum for my plants ( the ones the love humidity and my GALS ) 😁.
Oh also I keep some of my growing moss on top of the Snails terrarium where it gets the heat and proper uv etc rays. Which are in short supply here in the wear coast of Scotland lol .

Amazing! Perfect for Christmas! You use about 12 minutes to fold one, I just wonder how many minutes for me to fold the first one! 😆

Thank you! I just tried it and was surprised how easy it was-even though I used copy paper for it! The only part that was a bit confusing was collapsing the "mountain fold" but at the end of the sequence I was still able to follow along. Great tutorial! I recommend watching at a slower speed for beginners like myself :)

Haha so me too now after trying to make them. I can do all the folding but simply cannot get them to close properly on a smaller scale.... which is what I want. Tried on a bigger scale and yes can do it but smaller - no way

You can start and practice with ordinary origami or copy paper. While doing that, you will find the ideal thickness of the paper.
I like little art, too. It doesn't overwhelm me and so makes me feel relaxed, like I did when I was a kid😋.

Thank you💖. By changing the number of pleats and the paper size (ratio), it's easy to create different diamond patterns. You can try!

(Edit) I am doing this but the mountain fold is a bit hard and confusing. I keep rolling my paper into a ball then throw it in the trash. Could you maybe make a video explaining the mountain fold? It stressed me out leaving me up to staying up to 12:00 AM .

Tried this along with the boots and the star and it turned out beautifully. I had some trouble only at the end when tucking and folding the last little bit into place. I think I just need practice! But it turned it out so pretty and dainty :) the instructions are so clear that I could probably make them by myself after watching maybe two or three times. Your creations are beautiful :) thank you very much 🤍

@@SweetTea-Stephens If you watch the opening segment again, they demonstrate how to insert the bows (basically just "trapping" the knotted string inside the crystal, or running it through the crystal and using a bead at the bottom to hold it in place).

I'm already half-way through, but this is an excellent tutorial! I may use it as part of my wedding decorations (I will have origami lotus flower name plates for people to know what table they are)
Edit: And then everytime I thought it was done it kept going, haha! I'll probably be more selective as to where I use them, centerpieces maybe!

well, the only group of people who will appreciate origami are young children nowadays. That's y i suddenly picked up this long dead interest of mine since childhood days. A simple kind of origami which they never come across is enough to make them pester me whole day to make for them.

Great video and skill shown, perfect container for that special gift to someone close. Couldn't get the English subs to work but didn't really need them anyhow. I love to watch these types of video's and some I try myself later when I have the free time. I have big hands so I use larger size paper, but I get there in the end. Thanks for sharing your lovely skill.

Thank you loved the step by step so i could follow along make it, making chain ornaments for my grandbabies, will include there name and the year, not sure if i'll make new chains each year or just send them candy to put in the one they have lol jk i'll make new ones each year till i die what a heirloom and memory for all of us thank you!

*me, less than halfway through:* so it's pretty complicated but i'm sure it's almost done...i could at least try... surely my friends will appreciate the love and thoughtful care of a handmade ornament with candy inside! it will be worth it!
*me, at the end:* I have no friends. And if I did, they'd get socks or chocolate dipped oreos.
Update: just wrapping gifts for my family was enough origami for my life. I no longer desire to fold paper. For me, it is not.

作るのが楽しいし出来るには出来たのですが、どうにも最後に糊か何かで貼るなどしないと上下も締め口もボンヤリ広がってしまいます。固い紙で作れば大丈夫なのでしょうか？市販の折り紙だとどうにも動画のようにはカッチリ締まりません
