The leather panniers look the best, but I agree, the mounting rack of Givi seems to be more stable.

Hi,I've had several over the years and I will never have side loaders again, they're a nightmare, open...everything falls out as the elastic doesn't hold all the bits you many have in there. They would be ok i suppose for normal clothes to take into a hotel, but for storing bits n bats, waterproofs, tools etc ,side openers are a no no.I really enjoy your videos ,very calming.

Hi, this might be possible, I will test it soon, if the top loader fits better to my needs. Cheers Marc

Whatever is more functional is the case to use. I would have rainproof exterior covers made for wet weather use. Enjoy

Good morning! I have Hepco & Becker leather paniers in my Classic Reborn (With rain protection Louis covers 12€ pair!) but i understand that Givi paniers are more practic...in my opinion Hepco & B....are the most Beautiful!!! Best Regards from Spain!

I would use the E22s for shopping and running errands whilst the wl900s look the better choice for touring and over night stays. It may look strange but one of each on the bike might be the most practical.

This is right, but for sure will look strange 😀

The plastic case looks better in my opinion.
And I like a top loader anyway.
I run the Hepco Becker c bow system but either manufacturer is high quality and worth the cost.

I have the central case and WL givi and it is not perfect. Water is inside even if the motorbike doesn't move. The zipper handle was broken after half a year so I have a key circular instead. BUT it locks really well with classic motorbikes🎉

Did you use the waterproof inner bags? Then rain should not be a problem.

@@Marc.Stones for my helmet waterproof bag is okay (like every plastic bag) but inside the case was a small puddle of water.

I think the WL are better for traveling and they look good on the bike too.

Zippers are a weak point bigtime when used like that. Nice bags for sure. Snap on off of both kinds is very practical. Thanks for the show. Prefer the topload style.

    Very decent indeed.😊
I got SW Motech mounts and Legend click on bags on mine…..not lockable though.
Thanks also, I did a small video on the spark plug and cap on my wee channel.😊

The hard plastic ones blend with the shape of the motorcycle better. They look like an OEM product. The larger one is a more elegant, more sophisticated bag, but do not blend with the bike as well. That they are not waterproof is unfortunate. I think you hit the nail on the head, use the plastic ones for general purpose, the larger bags for touring. What impresses me is how the mounting system becomes invisible when the bags are off, it is so perfectly integrated with the frame.

Do they have version for classic 350? Or the mounts are the same with meteor and classic?

Givi does not have a version for the Classic 350

I’ve had the 22 liter bags for a few years. To be honest, I’m not really pleased with the quality of the locking mechanism. The key lock isn’t very sturdy, and it’s really difficult to release the bags from the mounting bracket. I may have gotten some poorly-constructed units, as I’ve had several Givi bags before and since that were excellent. I have the quick-release brackets on my VStrom than can be removed with a simple tool which allows a clean look when the bags aren’t needed.

Very well prepared video as always Marc😊
I have had side loading panniers in the past but now I prefer top loaders. I think even top loading soft bags are better.
What jacket are you wearing ?
Maybe you could do a video on that 😊

Am I the only one who thinks that panniers on the Classic sit too far out from the bike ? I had a '92 Bullet 500 fitted with Acrybre panniers (very like HD Glide boxes) which looked much better IMHO. Unfortunately, like much else in the UK, they are no longer made as we race towards being a 2nd world country.

Bonjour Marc , je préfère le wl900 ,la forme s’intègre mieux avec la moto..les autres me font penser à des sacoches harley montées à l’envers ..De plus 10 litres de plus en road trip ce n’est pas négligeable.
