      The most crucial part is to check if your server supports Moodle 4.3 (mainly PHP part and MariaDB or any other supported DB version, Moodle currently supports). From the general perspective, there is no differences in terms of installation itself, if the final version is 4.1 or 4.3 or even 4.4 that is the most recent at the time of writing. All those minimum requirements are available at Moodle site and showed at the time of upgrading. For sure check all backup routines as well before starting the update (and also custom plugins/themes that might not be supported yet!).

    Hi Raido, In Production We Always Go For Stable Rather Than Latest.

      Sure, there are always options and of course you should test before you go LIVE

    im having trouble upgrading the version, im using hostinger as our webhost. the error is mariadb version, how can i ugradde the mariadb version on Hostinger, i am not able to upgrade to version 4.3. Hope you can help me

      I believe that you are not able to select mariadb version. This is strictly fixed by service provider. I have had same issue and once I changed service provider, who was using supported mariadb, all was fine. It just happens that different sevice providers do upgrade those requirements at different times. In my case, I think that my previous service provider did offer the support in about 6 month later. Also, the same is true for PHP version support but it seems that this is offered more easily in respect of Moodle requirements. Hope it helps and the only reccomendation, I can give, ask, what is their (service provider) schedule to upgrade mariadb version and act accordingly.

    What about the lib folder, is on the old moodle but not in the new one, can I just copy it?

    • @eRaido

      I would check from where this /lib folder is coming. Perhaps it is connected with some additonal module? If it is not present in new Moodle, I would skip it at first and see what is said during installation. It should give a hint if it is needed…

    after every update my course structure is resetet, use also the grid plugin

      @eRaido  Год назад +1

      I believe that in my video the Grid plugin was in beta and I couldn't get it to work. Therefore at the moment I do use a different one. But if you update the course (from a backup for example), you can initiate if course settings are taken over or not. And if the plugin is not available, some default structure is used. Therefore sometimes you need to be careful and have a course settings direct link available, so that you can easily open up the page, in where you can change the course layout/format.
