The biggest problem is that this game mostly pulls from the newer seasons of South Park while Stick of Truth pulled from all of South Park
I'll agree it was a downgrade from Stick of Truth. The gameplay got better and the story suffered a little bit, but it's a solid game. That being said I'm hoping the sequel is a team up with Butters as the main villain, just tormenting South Park/the group. Will probably end up as anime styled ninjas/samurais. Or maybe Ninja versus Pirates.
Shinjiji i personally think this gameplay was better but over all the stick of truth was better
i prefer paper mario style game play more, turn base tactics style is okay but makes battle far longer, only way you speed it up is make insane combos with powers and break the game
Unlimited’s is better in the in the first game for me cause it was interactive
And the smash for the attacking was better in the first one as well
I think the next game will be sci fi or post apocalyptic themed

I think the point was to have him match his player character in the game.
Though being able to pick a different weight class in the game would be interesting. I get that Cartman is shown fat because he's especially big, but I could see having more creativity in that. Maybe even a bit of height, too.
But I also understand it would make programming the costumes more complicated.

reason character Chief was killed off is because guy did voice for him was into Scientology, creators don't like it

Real reason Chief was killed off was because the creators of South Park had a kneejerk reaction to what they thought was Isaac Hayes rage quitting over the Scientology episode, despite the fact that Hayes defended the show's brand of humor (while admitting he had objections) during an interview about said episode. It came out Hayes' "rage quit" was issued in his name by his Scientologist "friends" right after he had a stroke and was unable to make any such decisions.
Izicial all religions have aspects similar to cults, but that is just because people exhibit and are attracted to cult like behavior. You can find exactly the same cult like behaviors in all sorts of groups. Scientology, on the other hand, fits every definition of a cult.

Well, they've done fantasy, they've done superheroes ... next is obviously sci fi. I'd love them to do an alien invasion Xcom / Mario & Rabbids game, with the same RPG mechanics. Maybe also space battles thrown in.

i think what really fucks the sequel so bad is they used their best material for the first game, the fantasy setting is also not so constrictive as say a superhero/marvel parody, so they really struggled to find new and unique fights to entertain us with.
the fantasy setting is also timeless and a classic setting in rpgs. meanwhile superheroes is very much a 2010s thing.

The first game had fast travel too but just with Timmy, it had MORE travel points in the first game too, so...
yeah i'm spending A LOT of the game just walking. It's not worth it finding a fast travel spot most times because they're so far away.
When playing on PC, I had a LOOOOT of game freezes in fights. Funnily, they were easily fixed once I knew how: just alt tabbed out, tabbed in, and it worked again. Had to use this a few times in the end, but once I knew how to work around it, I was fine. I enjoyed the game a lot despite these little glitches, especially through the latter half.
Imaginationland needs to be in the third game.

No, it was all mostly good upgrades, I beat it 100%, and most of the down points are honestly the story. The main bad for example, the pacing, no ups or downs..

Unlike the fuqbois above me, I think that would be pretty cool, but instead of chinpokomon, since they werent really fleshed out, we "capture" South Park characters and use them in battle. Or maybe use minor characters and fight other major characters, which minor characters can include chinpokomon

The "difficulty" wasn't a difficulty it was 100% a joke.
Nah. I can't see it. Andromeda came out pretty late in the production of SP:FBW, and it doesn't really fit.
I see it as social commentary, in two ways. The first is pretty surface: in the real world, your race does affect your entire life. The show may make fun of tokenism, but it does acknowledge that black people have a harder time.
The second is commentary on how this is completely at odds with how video games work. We can make our character look completely different, and it never matters. Ironically video games are more egalitarian than the real world.
I also see a possibility that they had actually considered having it actually affect the difficulty of the game, but realized how that could feel unfair to people who just wanted to make a character that looks like them. Still, they thought it was a good joke and commentary, so they left it in.
Given how much press it got, I think they made the right decision. The only downside is that pretty much none of us got to experience the joke first hand while playing.

The ending was abrupt to match the regular episode flow of South Park. Short abrupt stunner endings is a pretty normal thing.

I finally finished this game yesterday. I beat the Stick Of Truth back when it was released, but plan on replaying it once I get through all the "but whole" DLC. I think I agree the first one was better, but that's like saying Master Of Puppets is better than The Black Album. I will point out that this game is way longer than I expected and almost overstays it's welcome toward the last 2-3 hours (if you're like me and play through it in a couple of days), but talk about value for your money. Like the show, a lot of situations leave you giggling "what the fuck" to yourself and admiring the creators humor and wild imagination. Combat also gets surprisingly rewarding once you get the hang of it and start unlocking new allies and powers.
Edit: I forgot to mention I experienced absolutely no bug related issues playing this on PS5.

On Xbone I got a bug where a Superboss did a jump attack on the New Kid but I was slowed. It wouldn't let me move out from under the boss so every available square including the one I was on just plastered me with the BLOCKED shit. I couldn't move away, attack, activate items or end my turn so I had no choice but to restart from the last checkpoint, as in restarting the boss fight I had got down to 200hp on Mastermind difficulty

I agree with almost everything you said Joe, but SOT also had fast travel with the help of Timmy. And the city of South Park was exactly the same. That was something that sorta disappointed me actually. I remember SOT being more diverse and creative and taking you to different locations. FBW didn't do that as much.
I feel like this was really a transition game that suffered cause they focused on it being a video game than a south park video game

At the end the game, you do get a scene after part 1 of the credits where butters talking to you saying "You tried being a Hero, Why not let your darker side free?". This might be some foreshadowing for the 3rd game where you mainly become the villain and possibly on your own.

Well to be fair the Buddy powers were funny the first few times after that became reaaally tedious
This intro got me fucked up.
My game ran slow during a Danger Deck fight which I initially chalked up to there being too many enemies on screen (as it was one of the really big fights) and it ran smooth again after the enemy that appeared to cause the problem was defeated.
The intro alone makes this one of the best reviews yet
