I don't know if this would be possible, but an asteroid jumper would be an interesting challenge. A space vehicle that can't navigate open space, instead needing to jump between asteroids.

That is because usually most bigger games like this the devs focus more on making new updates, content, and fixing bugs than actually playing the game. So they might know how the game works better than anyone but theory is different than actually playing it. After playing so long eventually they gain enough experience playing the games that they come to about the same knowledge of how the game works, but it is based on skill and experience rather than creating the game. There are some things that you can only learn by playing the game. That is why they have the bug report and they play the games themselves but it's more for testing and seeing if the stuff they implemented works how they want it. But that also locks them into the mentality that this block or concept can only be used a certain way. But people who don't really understand how they are used might find a different or maybe even a better way to use it that makes it play better when used up against the devs. But the devs sometimes have the upper hand with knowing the game mechanics. Like the airship battle the devs knew or had a good idea that the weapons aim for center mass so they made a void in their ship there and the missiles harmlessly went through the space not hitting most of the time.
Cool multiplayer space battle idea: Put a speed sensor in your build and make it so that if you go slower than a certain speed then the speed sensor activates dynamite in your build so you explode and die, the speed sensor should be activated after you cross the speed limit of course or you will die instantly. Ideally the speed limit should be pretty fast like 500-1000, that would be more fun because we haven't seen a very fast space battle where everyone just zooms around.
Just an idea for you guys. Can you do a multiplayer dreadnaught battle. So the rules are that you have to make space ships that are max complexity, 700 I believe, and battle. Full on like dreadnaught battle. You could do 2v2 where one person pilots while other mans the turrets. Idk have fun with idea but sounds cool.

If the EMP works in normal gravity, a race where you use the emp to mess up the opponents controls (I assume that's what happens if you have no shield and get hit with an emp) could be an interesting thing.

y'all should do space tag. basically, there are 2 teams, one person is on the "Hunter" team, and the other three are on the "Runner" team. when a "Hunter" disables a "Runner player" the "Runner" repairs their ship/swaps the color of said ship to the main hunter's color and is now a hired hunter. the time it takes to take down all runners is the final score for the main hunter.

Battle idea: a Battlebots inspired fight with a weight limit of 250kg and only melee weapons are allowed (vertical/horizontal spinners, lifters, flippers, etc). No block or power core limit.
Here are my 2 suggestions. One, we still need a video of you testing the speed limits. Two, make a ship with like 6 shields but only one gun and thruster to make up for it and become a fortress. Would be fun to watch.

So like "full shields" forward flying in and then change it to all "rear shields" when escaping. Just stacking up that kind of system with multiple shields would give the effect of "shield power redirecting."

It would be cool to see a space battle but with battleships, and by that i mean a ship that uses turrets instead of more static guns and a 2v2 battleship battle with one player controlling the turrets and one driving, although you could also have two fighters vs a battleship but quantum rudders are required for a speed maximum.

I think it’d be really funny to build a suicide bomber that’s just a cube for one of these multiplayer battles. It could have one gun in the center and as much speed as you want, just so you technically are within rules. I think it’d be best to not tell your opponents what you’re doing too, just reveal it as a suprise
Nice builds and fights. To the devs: PLEASE take the time to add a minor helpful thing to the game: 1x1x1 versions of everything that rotates. Having only the 2x2xn versions makes a lot of builds impossible. Thanks in advance.
I don’t think scrapman realized the absolute devastation 2 emps cause. One can hit the shield, and the other scrambles controls, pretty much immobilizing the enemy ship and opening it up to laser fire

Yo ScrapMan, maybe think about putting quantum rotors on a switch. You could turn them off and increase speed infinitely to kite or turn them off and use small rotors for turning and then do passby drifts at high speeds (or turn around and shoot backwards). Also using two shields into the same direction could be nice to get more protection. I'm hype to get my hands on this DLC and test around myself. Idk how doable my ideas are and how restrictive 30 or 50 power cores would be on my build ideas. -------- Also interesting things to test: Could you do the turning mainly with heli rotors and have the quantum one on some sort of puls fire to stabilize a desired position? That way you could use less thrusters to ramp up speed and then do big loops on high speed drifting past your targets. With quantum rotor only on pulse it shouldn't slow you down too much, so you could keep high speeds. That's the idea.

Could you do a space invaders type challenge. One player could use a lander type vehicle with a sensor that activates thrust to prevent the vehicle from moving too quickly down while the other player has a land vehicle that has to try to destroy the lander before it can land.
I wonder if you could essentially double your shield strength or negate an EMP by having two shield generators, but having them alternate. Eg: shield 1 is on by default, shield 2 is off. Emp hits, and you press z to enable shield 2 while shield 1 regenerates. Could be interesting, if a little cheesy

I like the attention to detail, as the center meteor had more gravity it crushed itself into a sphere and made things orbit it.

You should try putting someting in orbit around the central asteroid. It would be a fun experiment to see if its possible
