This HD2 has some very nice physical features! I had this phone for 2 days and believe it or not, I returned it and went for the IPhone 4. Why? well.. The HD2 comes with Windows M6.5 and I had to reset the HD2 two times in order to get it back on it's feet. The apps I got from Marketplace didn't install properly, the OS became laggy after a short while and so on. True! this HTC HD2 is awesome but should come with Android 2.1 cause Windows mobile just won't do justice to this incredible phone.
Good review as always. The only thing I can say is that the palm pre mirrors the web browsing experience from the iphone except the pre's experience wil be even better with adobe flash support being added within the month
The phone has 3g. Its just that this version has the 3g radio designed for Europe. The Australian version has the ATT 850 band so you can import that and have 3g on ATT. T-Mobile is releasing the phone next month in the US for full 3g support on their network. Frequencies are often specific to countries as most of them all use different ones. So you cannot take a phone from the US to another country and automatically have 3g.
bring back all good memories, not sure anyone still have this, but recently i pickup HTC evo 3D, non of the app work anymore, can't sign-in to playstore, and even the weather not updating, anyone know how to fix?
Really nice video, but like to ask some something, which s better, the HTC HD2 or Motorola Milestone (or known in the US as Motorola Droid). Can't decide between these two phones, the HTC has awesome specs, though the Moto has the full qwerty keyboard. Also as the HTC can use adobe reader, I assume you can put ebooks on this as a pdf file??? But nice clear video, great review.
I just visit a tmobile store 2day bcuz I was very interested in diz phone and one of the guys working their said diz phone iz so not worth it that its always freezing on him and breaking down he showed it 2 us n I change my mind im so gonna wait for June 2 Im going for the MyTouch 3g Slide in Red.
Great video! thanks for sharing! Just a quick question, when you write Sms's, do you see the your received messages (from someone) and your sent messages to that person in the same screen like the iphone?
i like the windows mobile 6.5 on the hd2 a little more then the htc touch pro2. actually just the "today" home page with expandable applications. and then i like how u can put bookmarks under the browser.
I have a friend who has this phone an he now has android combined with windows downloaded to his phone. How do i find the software to do the same to my new hd2?
It would be great if all those people reviewing told that HTC stands for High Tech Computer Corporation and it's a Taiwanese company and they did a great job over a lot of phone manufacturers.
if i have wifi at home can i use it for free? or will i have to buy intenet with the phone in order to use it? i live in the us, on my itouch i can just connect to wifi from home, but i heard you cannot do that on a wifi phone, is this true?
it should definitely be the same. Both N1 and HD2 have the same snapdragon processor and both their screens are HTC's capacitive touch screen. And u can tell it's snappy in the video
One of the reasons T-Mo is not emphasizing 3G is that the freq. that they use in the US is actually a primary military freq. - so if you are within about 100 miles of a major military installation (say, Wash. DC with the Pentagon or the FL Panhandle w/Eglin AFB and NAS Pens.), T-Mo's 3G is locked out. They are very quickly implementing 4G anyway, which should scream for streaming video and TV on this unit.
when is this phone coming out and will it be on verizon??!! im getting thdroid but i think once i get used to touch i might switch to this one if its on verizon. if not im waiting for 2 years for end of contract and maybe getting this one.
It's all preference with these two and which carrier you want to sign with as I believe the Xperia X10 will be CDMA.(since its been labeled as, "sim free phone". and the HD2 is for T-Mobile. To be honest the X10 completely outspecs the HD2 so hardware wise its a no brainer. Whether or not you want Android and the new, "Racheal" UI and the bulk the X10 gives is another thing. For me its all about the HTC HD2, but if I was ever thinking about switching I'd pick up the X10 in a heartbeat.
Source? Everything I've found online is inconclusive on the subject. By the way, while its true that the Snapdragon doesnt have a separate graphics chip like Cortex A8 based phones, it is a System on a Chip design like the Nvidia Tegra so the graphics functionality is built in.
Unfortunately there is no date, although all speculation is to March. You can signup at T-Mobile for emails and updates on the HTC HD2 and when they set a date you will be one of the first to know.
Ah great! thanks man! love that feature on the iphone! i've been in situations when im asked so many questions in one message that i forget to answer some of them...
Hi...I'm new to this....quick question.....If i get an unlocked phone, use my existing sim card....and my carrier supports 3g....can I use 3g on this phone? And how good is the camera on this phone? Compared to HTC Incredible? Thanks guys!
Back then HTC was releasing phones left and right! Now barely have any options to choose from. LG and Samsung didn't have not so many models out. But now they do. smh. One M10 and HTC One Nexus needs to be their top sellers in 2016!
Oh, the olden days, when a 4.3" phone was considered huge...
Old school! Brings back some good memories.
I used to love this phone! Great memories
Here I am in 2021, waiting for my used HTC HD2 to arrive. Paid about $40 USD for it. Looks like a classic.
got two of them, amazing phone. one is now running android 6, the other on stock 6.5
Thanks for the review, I was waiting for you to review this device...
Yes, the Windows Phone marketplace has over 80K apps now and the number is going up fast.
Had mine since Christmas Day and so far I'm blown away by it. I'm yet to find any limitations.
I loved this phone! I ran it was an android mod, and I’d flip back and forth between android and windows
I love your reviews, you touch on every point important to the consumer. Thank you for your hard work!

bring back all good memories, not sure anyone still have this, but recently i pickup HTC evo 3D, non of the app work anymore, can't sign-in to playstore, and even the weather not updating, anyone know how to fix?
Can you download movies from your computer to this phone and watch them?
Really nice video, but like to ask some something, which s better, the HTC HD2 or Motorola Milestone (or known in the US as Motorola Droid). Can't decide between these two phones, the HTC has awesome specs, though the Moto has the full qwerty keyboard.

I just visit a tmobile store 2day bcuz I was very interested in diz phone and one of the guys working their said diz phone iz so not worth it that its always freezing on him and breaking down he showed it 2 us n I change my mind im so gonna wait for June 2 Im going for the MyTouch 3g Slide in Red.
so is this phone going to have 3G when it comes out for T-mobile on march 24?
I'm more of an iPhone myself but I'm thinking about buying it, it runs Android apps, right? since it has the market place...
Great video! thanks for sharing! Just a quick question, when you write Sms's, do you see the your received messages (from someone) and your sent messages to that person in the same screen like the iphone?
@nipuniub why is it better ......dont know which to bye iphone3g or htc hd2???
Since T-Mobile just came out with the phone, is it still not 3g? If not, is it still worthy?
best review on this phone that iv seen so far. thx.
In Europe the HD2 is much cheaper. iPhone is about 1000 dollars!
Actually, Pogo makes a stylus that works with capacitive screen.
are these phones able to connect to the 3g services in other countries?
do you recommend this phone ?? and if not what should i grt that is in the same price range?
What is the battery life like? thats a very big screen on a pretty thin phone...
so is 3g not working in the US ? why did she mention EDGE for few times?
It's going to tmobile, but I'm wondering when and how much it's gonna cost
Ok I wanna get a new phone. can u tell which phone is better? Motorola charm or this one? m confused.
i like the windows mobile 6.5 on the hd2 a little more then the htc touch pro2. actually just the "today" home page with expandable applications. and then i like how u can put bookmarks under the browser.
should i get this or the HTC Aria
did you have wifi on when you viewed the youtube video ?
do you think it can replace a laptop????
I have a friend who has this phone an he now has android combined with windows downloaded to his phone. How do i find the software to do the same to my new hd2?
does it have geo-tagging also can you make ringtones and what video format is it to watch
so if it has gps then do you need wifi/3g to run maps? can it do turn by turn directions?

It would be great if all those people reviewing told that HTC stands for High Tech Computer Corporation and it's a Taiwanese company and they did a great job over a lot of phone manufacturers.

@wrestlerrama The HD2 will be coming to T-Mobile. Release date for the phone will be March 17th.
