Where is your brush? This cleaning method is not safe at all.

We have done cleaning tests using black lights that prove that bowl brushes don’t do a good job of cleaning the uric acid build-up that can be found in a toilet. Using a green scratch pad with hand pressure does a much more effective job. We do a pre-spray of the fixtures (sinks, urinals and toilets and surrounding area) with an approved disinfectant and allow proper dwell time. We also require that our janitors wear a heavy-duty Janitor’s Glove that gives added protection. The Janitor’s Gloves are for restroom cleaning only, not for use in other building areas, ad they are expected to clean and disinfect the Janitor’s Gloves after use or before placing them back on the cart. We also use a color-code for all tools used in a building to cut down on possible cross-contamination.
