Eddie was truly a beautiful soul and it came through in his music, voice, lyrics, eyes and smile. I would love to see a good biography done on his life and an interview with his wife and children. In addition he should be in the Country Hall of Fame. Your missed and loved Eddie.
I could not agree more with your assessment of his well-earned place in the Country Music Hall of Fame; if Eddie does not belong, then someone please have backbone enough to explain...WHY?
Such a beautiful soul, songwriter and singer. My very first concert my Daddy took me to at the Sedalia State Fair in Missouri back in the late 80s or early 90s. I wish I still had the pictures. My Dad definitely got me loving all the country music greats! Both men and women. Another one of the greatest gone too soon. 😢
Damn that sounds good for no amps, and all the sound equipment... Eddie sure was a talented writer and performer... Gone way, way, way too soon!!! R.I.P. forever Eddie!!!
Eddie was so great song writer and singer!! Nashville I really think you should put him in the hall of Fame and the Country music stations should play his songs !!! Just give him the honors that he should have !!!!
Eddie was the first singer songwriter I ever seen perform live, and I was lucky enough to see him twice. It's sad that he is gone. Love his music, still!
I'm glad I taped this onto a CD when I saw it on BlueHighways, years ago. Miss the "Jersey boy!" Eddie was a great singer and songwriter, but more importantly he was a good man!
Wow,The Rabbitt goes unplugged in storyteller mode. Awesome to hear the story behind the song. Loved the way he sang Forgive and Forget. What a treat..
I was born in 1978... so I was quite young when Eddie was at his Pinnacle of popularity. Even as a young kid, I collected his records. Now that I'm in my 30's, I look through my record collection and wonder what the hell I was thinking on half of it... but Eddie's records still make me smile. As an adult, looking over his life story, he was "one of us"... a hard working guy with a family.... living an honorable life. Rest in peace my friend. I'll see you up there....and we'll jam.
Loved Eddie Rabbit. His guitarist lived in Big Springs Community, when Eddie passed. Never met Eddie, but one I truly missed seeing.Saw his Brother, when he was living in Nashville. He was another legend of Country Music. Those Irish people were very talented, and music was in their blood.
Thank you for posting this, chris! It's hard to find interview videos with Eddie. He was such an amazing artist, but his interviews really show his personality - just a good, good guy! So humble and sweet!
I was very fortunate to had been around to Enjoy his entire career on the radio, as well as in my own collection. Thank You Eddie for you're contribution to the Great music that we all get to listen to & Love. R I P
what a great little video and to hear eddie talk about how he got into the music business was fascinating. he seemed so down to earth and humble. he died too young but what a incredible life he lived and he certainly left quite a legacy the short time he was here.
Why did it take 10 years for RUclips to recommend this to me? Fantastic post valerie8961! Nice little slice of Eddies and Stans time and talent. Loved it.
Thanks Stan and especially thank you to Eddie, he was a great entertainer. All round great musician too. Any person who plays music can see Eddie had a special "love" for the guitar he used in this interview , as he said he did all his writing on iy. Certainly he had many fine instruments, but this was the one he enjoyed a lot. Rest in peace Eddie Rabbit Sadly missed.
***** The video said he first had a hit with Kentucky Rain and that Eddie Rabbitt got his first contract in 1974. My question is did Eddie Rabbitt have a regular job before he hit it big in Nashville (and later on Hollywood). Any information would be appreciated.
I know he had a NJ Black Seal Engineer Refrigeration License. His dad wanted him to have a trade to fall back on, in case the music "thing" didn't pan out!
I loved this series with Stan ,such great interviews ,such as this one ☝️ loved Eddie Rabbit, forgive and forget is one of my top 10 country songs ever ❤️👍

Do you have that song by Eddie Rabbitt called "Working My Way Up To The Bottom" that he talks about at beginning of this video? I would love to hear that.

Eddie was so awesome I got the privilege of seeing him 7 times in concert. His Horizons tour was my first concert.
Seen Eddie Rabbitt in concert several times. He was terrific!!❤
1981 met this beautiful redhead in college. Step By Step by Eddie was our favorite song. My favorite performer of all time. Rest in Peace Eddie.

Eddie was such a talent and such a friendly guy. Even all these years later, he is still missed.

Yes, an amazing man.....why those like him have lives cut short makes me sad but I know he's made an impact on so many❤️
I know right? What surprises me is he's not even in the Country Hall Of Fame yet!
Seeing him so thin just makes me want to cry. May you rest in the palm of God's hand, Eddie!
This video was filmed about four or five years before he got sick.
***** The video said he first had a hit with Kentucky Rain and that Eddie Rabbitt got his first contract in 1974. My question is did Eddie Rabbitt have a regular job before he hit it big in Nashville (and later on Hollywood). Any information would be appreciated.
WHAT? EDDIE WAS NEVER FAT/BIG as far as I remember. And I have been a fan since he started singing.
I know he had a NJ Black Seal Engineer Refrigeration License. His dad wanted him to have a trade to fall back on, in case the music "thing" didn't pan out!
I read where he had quit smoking and lost 55 pounds. He looks great here as always
I wish that he'd record "Working My Way Up To The Bottom". Love that song but when he does it, he rewrites the meaning of beautiful.
