This is why slipmatt is the rave godfather I have never heard a better set this is just pure ecstasy big up all raver’s young and old
My favorite set of his is fantazia 2nd birthday.
I think he practiced this set as it's seamless and only plays the best bit of each track.
Big up ya self man!

Do not let chemical stimulation remove punctuation. If anything there should be more.

I’d give anything for a Time Machine back to these amazing times with amazing people
Same mate, mad huh? But at least we did it :) ps. my 10 and 7 yr old are well on with getting into all sorts of electronic music. They haven't had much choice to be fair...
Never forget chewing into a glow stick at Helter Skelter... 😮
I remember me father saying back then "christ son music has got so bad you need drugs just to listen to it" 😂 he knew the score, coming in from a weekend of madness, best tIme of my life
Anyone just listened to this in 2021 and wished they could be transported back to this time and place?
This is over 30 years old. Where the fuck has time gone? I remember being a little kid fascinated by the strange sounds in this music.
OMG. bootleg tapes. from the markets... Baby D..Slipmatt... Loving it...Turned 52 and loved these albums..
I've still got all the fantazia flyers from 92. Loved it🥳👌
I was 17, wearing an orange jumpsuit and white gloves - yes I was that guy back then, used flyers as tape cassette inserts and sunglasses at night, wouldn't change a moment
🔥😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fuckin right don't change anythin my friend
Flyers as tape inserts takes me back!!
Flyers all over the bedroom walls 👌🏻
Pretty much ditto lol
One of the best sets ever. Doesn't outstay it's welcome and was one of the first three tapes I listened to. Never gets old. The atmosphere the MCs the mixing the crowd all of it palpable through a cassette. Never will history repeat this era of music
54 now-It’s been 30 years and I still haven’t been back to picked up my brain up, that’s probably why I’m still out there somewhere ❤🚀💥✈️⚡️🤪😜😁best days
This set totally sums up the era. Class what a time

I still remember this night like it was yesterday ❤ahhhh never forget those blissful years out smiling my arse off total freedom with all those beautiful like minded ravers 😊
Can you remember the mickey finn set 🤔
I was 12 years old when i first heard this (i'm now 41) after my older sister had a recording of it and that intro at 0:57 when that piano drops with the sound of the whistles and horns to this day still sends shivers.
I also got into this because of my older sister,I used to pinch her tapes on the sly, Rip Lisa Tuner ❤️
Best night ever...........had the car......had the girl.......had the dollar........had the mates.............had the fuckin life.........was it really nearly a quarter of a century ago ?.........fuck 😊😱🤑😀
Love that comment mate! Respect to the goo old days😉👍
+Edd Markham yeah man..........agreed 👍

Mad init,, I was 17 when I first heard this at mi pals House ,,his parents had gone on holiday and he set his decks up in the kitchen and a few of the lads come round all off there nuts on billy,,,,"what a weekend"🤣🤣,,all these years later I still love and respect these sets😃,,love ya lads and RIP the ones who are no longer with us,,,😃GLEADLESS SHEFFIELD😃
You know mate I'm 47 and off my nut on billy as I read your comment. Those house parties back in the day were something I'll cherish in my mind until I die
2022.....this will always be classic!
This era was as much a revolution as rock n roll was in the 50's/60's only better, less ego and less violence, rave on
I was hearing this when i was 4 years old and i still love the music now at 34
This still brings memories back from a time much better than the now. It really was a glorious time indeed, a care free life mixed with new awakenings in music and brilliant drugs it was just a ball of a time I loved it myself I wish it hadn't gone the way it did......south.
The best decade for dance ever 😎🤘👍
if they played these in my gym I'd be slim
😂😂
Get yourself a quality set ov headphone😉 i swear you'll b in da zone
Slipmatt... a total legend of the rave scene. I shook his hand once after a banging set in Madisons, Bournemouth. Shout out to the Lost it Crew!
oi oi Madison's ;)
Loving the memories. One of the best parties ever, car got stuck in the mud, had to walk into the village and find a phone box and wait yonks for a lift home. Wouldn't have missed this one for the world.
This is when weekends started at 5pm Thursday and finished about 9am Tuesday :)
spycrow lye
lol. typical party night then bro. was well worth the effort though. great set, great party, great times
You might of seen us, we broke down had to wait for AA. Must of been last ones left 😃

Blimey 30 years ago I was 18 lovely going down memory lane many a night sterns worthing west sussex
This where I was born. This where I will go when I die. I'll see you all there. Love x
Undoubtedly one of the best sets ever ✋😎🤚🙏
Just turned 30 and this early 90s Rave music has really grown on me.
You won't find better it's class it willnever be beaten because no one has that skill and any more 🤪
One of the BEST sets ever, without a doubt. Sick mc's, and a proper mix selection!
standard931 check the seduction set out
EasyGrooves set from that night pisses on both slipmatt and seductions, but theirs along with Food Junkies set are worthy 2nd/3rd/4th place holders 😉
Remember buying this for my 13th birthday... I had a huge rave collection and this was one of the best sets ever.... Easygroove did an awesome set at this rave too... My 2 favourite djs 😉😉
I remember.....I was a 70s baby so I remember it well these beautiful times to be a teenager that it was. What I remember is that first wave of something....that feel of something new coming....that was Acid House. As soon as the 90s came around and XTC had taken the ravers by storm which it had done for some years by then I was all in. It was something that fealt like only select few were doing. Luckily enough some of my friends were like me and we were already acid heads anyways so it came natural to us, and we loved our old school hardcore and jungle from the very start so it was a done deal. Well it wasn't until I actually started raving that I realised that it wasn't just a few or a little couple of hundred here or there, it was literally thousands up and down the country from Scotland, Wales, and England North, East, South, and West, and XTC was everywhere. I loved it back then it was a glorious time to be alive and young. Many a night out of my face on Dove's or Snowballs or whatever was available at the time, tbh some of my best memories of raving happened at Dreamscape and Helter Skelter raves but each their own. I remember Summertime and One Step Beyond, I remember them all.
Nobody else seems to be saying it - the genius of this set is because of the synergy between Slipmatt’s selection/sequence of tunes AND the MCs, who perfectly pitch their patter - not too dominant and yet still somewhat intelligible (not that it really matters - respect to the raver!)
MCs are for the night to keep the ravers hype hype. Not my words but the words of MC Marley. I would agree that the MCs did complement this set and is also one of the biggest downloaded sets of all time. No one can really comment on MCs on a live recording. If you listen closely you can hear one of the MCs saying to move back as the people at the front are getting crushed. Enough said about this DJ set by Slipmatt, the MCs and Fantasia. Peace ☮️. Just enjoy 👌👌
MCs just hype the crowd. There was some of the best mcs in the early race scene.
What happened to these raves !? I don't wanna spend NYE in some dead ass club 🙄 might just blast this in the house 🤣 big up the 90s
Its what ill be doing with the lads n lasses round....Fuck the shitty clubs :)
The 1994 criminal justice act killed off the rave scene. Some of my best years spent in fields. Including at this one😂😂
John Major fucked it and Tony Twat Bliar buried the corpse
glad that some of you had the pleasure to experience this
Credit where it's due. This is a bangin set by DJ Slapmitt.
He was a legend and still is
The piano loops were something fuckin else.
This is the sound of my youth.Once in a lifetime shit never felt so good.Just so good... Only for the Hardcore! Whistle posse blow!👍👍❤️❤️😋😋😏😏😏
Well we made it 🙌👏
A moment in history. So glad it was recorded, best times ever..HWND
You are so right.
Hardcore will never die !!
This was a sick mix! The ending to one of the best years for this stuff. The 91/92 Hardcore/Breakbeat Hardcore/Rave sound was something I don't think will ever happen again. This mix captures a portion of it perfectly!
"The Grand Ol' Duke of York he had ten thousand men he marched up to the top of the hill and he marched them down again, they're on a rush, they're on a rush.." One of the best sets ever, great tunes and agree that the MC's flow perfectly.
I was 17 in 1993. Grew up listening to sets like this and went to my first all night rave at 16. Glad I caught this scene at the right time. I was always into rave music at school even though most of my mates were into indie. Still listen to this stuff today at 43.
Topped off with Prodigy at the end when they played proper rave music not like their stuff now. Bestist times. We were the lucky ones to be there
Jenny Millie o yes babe we set the pace listen to the shit they call hardhouse remixed from our days the best days 😜😜😜😜
What a day this was we had our fair ride there never managed to get back to the ride hahah 🤪🤪🤪🤪
@@jasonhudson244 Hard House has not really been a thing since around the early 2000's lol
@@acidmack1041 Tony De Vit playing hard house in the 90's. Being there rocking to many of his sets R.I.P.
@@andyloudon3702 Tony De Vit was an absolute genius, Hard House pioneer. He set the trends for others to follow. Fantastic DJ, really nice bloke, sadly missed
we were there that night ... just thousands of people having a good time .. cant actually remember that much about it ... o dear !
Those of us who were lucky enough to experience the rave scene back in the day were just so fortunate. THERE'S NO SKOOL LIKE THE OLDSKOOL AND SLIPMATT WAS THE HEADMASTER.
OI OI. WHISTLE POSSE BLOW.
Some of these tunes are out next level out of this world xx
Remember borrowing my mums blue nova to come to this, 5 of us from Hippos Middleton! Mum use say I’m so proud you don’t drink when you go out!!!💊💊💊💊
I was there…22 years of age Listening now these sets are crucial for the future 🤿❤️
Reflected on this a lot, and Concluded Dj slipmatt was absolutely on fire and in the zone this night.
It truly is one of the best sets i have ever heard.
Use the force Dj slipmatt , thanks for all the good times .
One love .
Chris from the uk 🙏🙏🙏
This and Dougal Dreamscape 8 my favourite rave sets ever.
Thanks for the memories
One of the best sets Ave heard Slipmatt legend 🙏🏻👊🏻
Classic set from Slipmatt. Few anthems in there but this set basically sums up 1992
1:37 god that's so perfect
Born in the wrong era, i would kill for shit like this just now. The crowd, the vibe, everything sounds so amazing.
Nice to hear a set played at a big do where the DJ actually picked one banger after another.
All too often I hear sets that are packed out with boring filler tunes. Especially these days. Drives me nuts so often. Every tune played in a set should be there for a reason...to raise the fkin roof.
This is a proper rave set. Slipmatt was the real deal for sure.
Dropped many a pill to this back in the day triple xs anyone or new Yorkers anyone remember respect
What a set, we had this every weekend from 88 to mid 93....then it went to shit , music, pills, vibe.....calis, white, yellow, doves, doubles, dennis the menace red n blacks :)
This music Makes you feel alive
One of the best Time for fun and music ! 90 s ❤
An love for everyone ❤
Wish I could be there again
Absolutely one of my favourite sets ever. Loved a bit o proper core but this sets perfect
What i.generally like about slipmatt is his track selection and he can really mix!
Miss these days
One of the best!!! Especially during the 90's.... Prob was the best tbh!

Respect to you all . Doves Mitsubishi you know the score. We were there love to you all
I was 13 when this surfaced, I been a fan of this era of rave ever since, proper gutted that I just missed this era
Well rude boy I'm bringing it back 🤣
2022 and still fkin fresh as a daisy, fkin top set.
I wish I was there!
Wasn't a very good rave tbf mate
Great set. Remember freezing my arse off that night....good times
Never really took much notice of Slipmat back in the day as I don't think I ever really got over seeing SL2 pretending to spin turntables on Top of the pops. This upload though (top sound quality by the way) reminded me just how on the fucking money his mixing was. Which in my opinion was during a time when a lot of poor quality DJ's made huge names for themselves purely from track selection.
This guy nailed them both. Probably why he withstood the test of time
Philip Firth nail. Head.
His best mix is Fantasia 2nd birthday. He only plays about a minute of each track
totally had this on dodgy pirate cassette back in the day :) good to hear it here.
I remember being friends with everyone that night. 👨🏼🦳✌🏼🌍
Mean ❤
So jealous of you old school ravers!!!! You guys had it soo good! I’m 33 and wish I could have experienced it 😢😢😢
@Ama Daetz true story 😜
Back then there wasn't any trouble the atmosphere the ppl the music was out of this world, don't get me wrong the drugs helped to create that but well worth it
Classic moments like this these will never die, we have the the likes of David guetta selling out to every artist under the sun today who has nothing on these djs back then, some who are still doing it for the true dance fans out there
Guetta and the like are not worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as the DJ's like Slipmatt, Easygroove etc
i got there at 1230 !!! been to Manchester and back from Cardiff , this was the end of the hardcore , shit reply of yester years , trance was getting louder !!!
Great night good times
One of the best ever sets 😉🙂
Cheers Slipmatt! 1love
One of my all time favourites. Superb set 👌 👏 👍
Still my go to set in 2019! Didn’t realise what we had back then, thought it would last for ever.
🤔started with the anti ds in 2000 😢it defo didn’t last forever been paying the price ever since la 😅
Best set of all time by any dj ever. The tunes the mixing the rush the mc timing it has the lot. Had this on tapeback in the day and being 10 I couldn't go raving. When that tape got chewed I was devastated thankfully with technology now and RUclips old memories can be relived. I listen to this at least 3 times a week to get motivation and when EQ drops sometimes I cry.
This music lives on today never be bettered
innovative times...itll come again though, maybe after the apocolypse
W0w again I'm in tears just so powerful jj
To everyone that was there , you lucky lucky bastards#!!
I was only 11/12 in 1992 but was already listening to the beats!
I was there.
There was a funfair and a big wheel. I came off the big wheel completely off my head and walked back into the main tent to see slipmatt. People were handing pills out for a tenner. It was just a mad free for all. Never been so trashed in my life. Great night.
It's great that you like this music too mate. Check out Dunne espiral. Used to bring the house down. And 4 for money it's a moment in time. The crowd went mental..
Try beat club dreams were made to be broken. If you want to go wayy back..
I was 20 aving it large
Omg, this brings back memories.. i was 14 at the time! love love love love it!.. :-)
Louisa Cunningham iwas 16 too wicked yr that was
wow.. we're old.. lol..
Louisa Cunningham I was9 and nicked my big sisters tapes so I could rave around my room with my soubdlab strobe light . ........ Wow my childhood was awesome! What I would give to see more of these events now!
I was 15 and remember this being advertised all over pirate radio! Addicted to rave I would have given anything to have been there 🙃 Why didn't I go!! Stoopid 🙈
TOTAL XXXtacy
They dont make music like this no more gutted
Check out Hoover1, Dead Man's Chest, Refreshers
Yeah u can still blast this tho
What about High Contrast? Chase and Status? Sigma?
@@DJAndeKarmaRecordings
Love chase and status to bits but I haven’t heard anything by them that’s similar to this style of early 90s rave/hardcore,
Big ups on ur channel btw I subbed a while back
@@georgeespley9177 nice one George that is very much appreciated. Put up a new Moving Shadow mix yesterday!!
I was there, all those years ago. What a night......If only I had a time machine.
So so many memories for this night. 😃
Still getting hype to this shit in 2021!
