Hey, my husband‘s company actually makes those foil bubble pouches. He said if you were going to ship in those, you need to first wrap your candle in bubble wrap and then place them in the pouches to create an air space. Heat transfers in three different ways, radiant, conductive, and convection. All of which can happen during transit. So laying it in the driveway purely under radiant circumstances doesn’t give you the 100% failsafe best shipping option, he said. This is his line of business and he knows what he’s talking about.
I think he qualifies his testing a bit in the spirit of your comment, but I for sure think there's more going on than simple exchange. Thanks for sharing some good insight! Building a streamlined and efficient shipping/packaging process requires more how-to than most people realize!
90 is cool compared to 106 here in Fresno CA I purchased a candle from memory box and had it sat in my mailbox any longer it would have been ruined. It was starting to melt. Im glad I was home. Thanks for the video.
Yes please let us know about those additives for 464 to help with scent throw! I’m new at candle making and shipped some from FL to Chicago with no melt issue and no thermal pkg or ice pack was used.
Hello, did you ever make the 2nd video? Was interested in how that turned out since I have some bulk orders that need to be shipped out this week. Thanks!
I ordered 4 candles and 4 wax melts from Memory Box and she uses Soy wax. My first and only order so far arrived on a 96° day and the BOX sat out in the direct sun for 6 hours🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. I am so thankful she packed it good with tissue paper, bubble wrap, and peanuts. My wax shipment was in perfect condition. She learned a lot from you. I'm still patiently waiting for my order from you to actually start moving. It's been sitting ready to ship since August 14th
@@StandleyHandcrafted I will when the post office receives them to deliver to me. Memory Box and you are about the same distance from me. I'm sure yours will arrive perfectly fine as well since she has learned mostly everything from you. 🙂
Hello!! I wanted to ask if you have any advice on how to store melts? I’m trying to make a large amount of heart mold tarts but don’t know exactly how to store before they get packaged for an order. I was thinking plastic containers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
Hi standley! I was wondering if you could asnwer this question... Im testing 3 wicks with less than 4% fragrance just because i didn't want to waste the fragrance. For some reason.. all three testers are "sweating." With such a low FO load, why would this happen? Now im worried when i actually use 6% or more it will look really bad?
Mine are doing this, too ! Like every single candle that I have. My FO loads range from 6% to 8% & I’m using IGI 6006, so I’m assuming that’s the issue. Are you using a softer wax, too ? It’s been super hot here lately, so I’m chalking it up to the heat combined with the soft wax. I have some coco apricot creme wax coming to me, kinda worried about that in the heat even more !
Interesting to see the difference! A well packaged box does more than we tend to give credit. I find ice packs run the risk of condensation issues. What’s worse than a melted candle? A slightly less melted candle with a soaked label. Lmao This is even double bagged ice packs.

What about a soy/paraffin blend wax, 6006. I’m trying to ship my dessert candles & im very nervous!
What are those #'d waxes you mention? Are those paraffin waxes?
Very helpful thanks. How long is the shelf life for Joy Soy candle (Natures Garden)? If that makes since 🤔

Where is part 2?
Ok probably not a good idea but what about putting candle in freezer just till it's cold, not frozen and then put in in a foil pack?
Mary Conner No because it can also make the wax shrink and crack. Plus it would stay cool for very long.
@@StandleyHandcrafted Thank you, that's what I figured but wanted to know for sure.
I live in Phoenix 😢
I live in Arizona and it’s about 115 degrees lately. Thanks for the helpful video
I need to ship down there and see how they hold up.

Hi, what kind of wax can I use? Can I use beeswax?
OMG!!!!!

Exactly, this is what I need to test also. Do the ice packs help or hurt.
