  • Mitsubishi brought its third flight test MRJ90 to the Paris Air Show for the new airliner’s first public appearance. This specific aircraft is intended to test the avionics and autopilot performance. The fly-by-wire MRJ is powered by Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines, and the flight test program’s five airplanes are busy logging hours toward certification in 2019. Entry into service with launch customer All Nippon Airways is planned in 2020.

As a guy from Sweden. How dare you call my Toyota crappy!? I get what you mean but the thing is that when Japan decide to do something they do it frustratingly well. I get a feeling this aircraft will have the best reliability of all of them.

Its very nice to see that Asian countries especially Japan had also developed the civil aircraft and it will compete with the big countries or company like Airbus and Boeing ! I love to fly with MRJ90.

Based on the aircraft Mitsubishi produce. I realize they didn't understand the basic of aviation industry at all. If they know the basic, they would built A320/B737-800 and A321 size aircraft instead. But hey, they need to fail few times before they learn their lesson.

NNT Flow business is business mate, it's all about making money. who's the big guy in the regional jet class? bombardier? lol build A320/B738 class plane instead to face direct competition with giants like Airbus and Boeing. sounds like a good idea.

@@nntflow7058 why would they build those when boeing and airbus are completely dominate in that area? at this point carriers are really keen on fleet commodification to keep pilots and fleet maintenance somewhat standardized

Most unpopular aviation companies, compared to boeing and airbus, start out small so that if it's a failure, the company wont be damaged as much as they would if the plane were bigger.

It was very long time for development and as the result, almost the same as like as existing market planes such as Bombardier C series and Embraer E Series. In fact, I believe Mitsubishi wants to enter souteast asia market with this plane. Otherwise it would be really hard to take a piece of cake, that is under dominated Embraer and Bombardier.
Good luck for Mitsubishi. MRJ seems really nice plane.

Nice, but it does look like an Embraer with funny nose.

Mitsubishi is famous for making “Zero” as no more plane. The program is dead.
