This opening was only used for four episodes in 1968 after the shows star Bea Benaderet passed away and before June Lockhart came aboard as the new female lead

As a kid I thought it was really weird when they added the dog to the water-tower scene. I was also too young to understand what they meant by "even more (curves) when you get - to the junction".

As an adult, I still think it's weird. Transvestites on TV were rare in those days. Let alone transvestite dogs.

I was too young to understand that too, but I've always wondered what happened to the dog's petticoat.
