Dear morgaine, this is great . Wonderfully atmospheric. Great tips and techniques. Love your honesty when talking about our little struggles with some of the techniques. I know what you mean about dry brush as it's just a matter of getting comfortable with the brush you are using and the position your arm is at depending on the angle of the scene ☺️ Really good advice thanks morgaine for showing. 😍
Oh sweet Morgaine. Just if you had but a hint of the power you wield through a fluffy tipped stick. (sounded cool for a moment eh? hehehe) This painting threw me into some written material of ages past. In the photo and in the painting, I see a monster, hidden behind the darkness that surrounds this vile beast. I'll share that written word:- "I will not conceal his limbs, his mighty power, or his graceful proportions. Who can remove his outer coat? Who can approach him with a double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face, with his terrible teeth all around? His rows of scales are his pride, shut up tightly with a seal; one is so near another that no air can come between them; they are joined on to another, they stick together and cannot be parted. His sneezings flash forth light. and his eyes are like eyelids of morning. Out of his mouth go burning lights; sparks of fire shoot out. Smoke goes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. His breath kindle coals, and flame goes out of his mouth. Strength dwell in his neck, and sorrow dances before him. The folds of his flesh are joined together, they are firm on him and cannot be moved. His heart is as heard as stone, even as hard as the lower millstone. When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; because of his crashings they are beside themselves. Though the sword that reaches him, it cannot prevail, nor does spear javelin nor dart, he regards iron as straw, and bronze as wood. The arrow cannot make him flee, slingstone become as stubble to him, darts are regarded as straw, he laughs at javelins. His undersides are sharp potsherds; he spreads pointed marks in the mire. He makes the deep boil like a pot, he makes the sea like a pot of ointment. He leaves a shining wake behind him; one would the deep had white hair. On earth there is nothing like him which is made without fear. I reckon this writer is clear on a few things. First we're not to mistake this beast for being a she monster, and second, this dragon isn't called "Puff" .LOL Fabulous, as your art ever is sweet lady. If your still with me, show an emoji of flame as if from this storms nostrils. Hehehe Take the greatest care Morgaine. TTFN
Greatly appreciate Morgaine the process of creating a stormy scene, this was clearly explained video and enjoyed the end product with amazing effect. Thanks for sharing your inspirational talent stay safe and healthy
Thanks for sharing your art work with your lovely commentry, Morgaine. You and Lois are so inspirational and I love warching your videos and painting along 🙂
Morgaine, this is amazing!!! It’s like a huge galleon hovering over the water. Lucky you to have seen it in person! When you started the dark clouds I really thought they would all run down and you would lose the rain effect, but you must have had just the right amount of water and though they did run, the rain effect stayed!! Bravo!
Dramatic painting.if I see it again I may need my umbrella!!!.Thanks
