i always adore futaba's dances bc she's actually doing A Lot of tapping its just that moment where they put the sound effects over top. its so cool to see as a tap dancer as well!
Yusukes dancing was surprising but also expected at the same time. Yusuke is an artist so he is able to tap into the beauty of dance that can only be seen by those with the eyes of an artist. He is able to incorporate the smoothness and grace of painting into his moves.
Honestly I can't see Joker as a Self Insert character for multiple reasons. One, he's handsome as hell whereas other self inserts (minus Minato and Yu) are generic as fuck. Two, he has more of a personality to him than a lot of them do. Three, he may be the most searched character in the persona 5 roster (more than even Makoto especially when he was revealed to be in smash). Also, I can see why people would simp for joker. I'm a guy and I'd gladly simp for that man, I can only WISH I was that smooth. He's literally a smooth criminal, hehehe...
100% agree. I especially think in Royal they went one step further in establishing certain consistent character traits for Joker - and it works REALLY well. He practically exudes personality despite being silent most of the time, and it works in the narrative's favour.
I actually find your whole opinion on the Last Surprise dance with the girls really refreshing and I'm glad you had somewhat similar experiences growing up as a dancer. I have a friend who's a girl who grew dancing and she would probably have a similar response "the cages are a bit much but other than that it's fine." This isn't the anime version of Cuties people. If Crystahl is any proof obviously she clearly doesn't feel like she was taken advantage of dancing similarly at a young age and her response to the dance makes it clear she doesn't feel like things need to be changed. The reason I bring this up is because back when Shenpai uploaded her video on Dancing Starlight she sounded appalled by the fact that the dance even existed. I do like Shenpai but it made me realize just how many people weren't familiar what dancing for young girls is like. Like I get the argument about the boys getting the cool heist music video and the girls getting the "sexually charged" dance routine, but should people find it absolutely disgusting? I wouldn't think so. I will fully admit I like how they handled the female dance routine in Persona 3 Dancing Moonlight more. Final thoughts yes I also agree that pole dancing should not be exclusively considered sexual as it's a good way to stay in shape.
I pretty sure Shen less actually mad at the dance itself and more at the outfit. I like this dance but I gotta have to agreed that those outfits and the cage is a bad BAD ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE combo . Finding it disgusting is kinda mild imo.
i really don't think the problems with the girls' last surprise dance comes from the dance moves themselves, it's DEFINITELY the cages, and maybe the fact that they're all underage and put into a surrounding setting that looks a bit too adult. like that's kinda iffy. but the dance itself is fine, it's the setting that bothers me

It’s heartbreaking he sees he’s too far gone after all he did since working under Shido to accept anyone willing to help him. As he said to Joker, if they had met sooner they’d truly be able to be friends. Meeting before he began using the Metaverse to assassinate others for Shido and accumulating so much blood on his hands in just 2 years, things could’ve gone differently. It’s also made very significant with the setting being where he allegedly to have died in. Naturally, the “2 sides of the same coin” thing had me talk more about Joker and Akechi. 😅
Hey Crystahl, ever notice how in Akechi’s dance, he starts of moving very smoothly but near the end of the dance, his moves are more rigid and stiff? If you think about it, this reflects himself in the original P5, since he started his life off as his own person, but by the end of Shido’s palace, he’s essentially a puppet. His dance starts of free, and by the end of it, he moves LIKE a puppet would. That’s hella sad to think of that way, but it’s amazing that this was incorporated into his dance.
Its noticable if you listen to characters talking in background and I think its not his whole life but more through the game in which he start calm and colected and the part when he becomes crazy is more of his fight in Shido's palace since it all starts during fever time when Joker and Akechi dance/fight so its not his whole life since he never was calm/colected as in the dance since his mother d*ed at very young age. I think its more of his ego/persona evolving (not Robin to Loki but how he shows himself) during game
But didn't he choose to betray Shido at the very end and sacrifice his life? And also asked Joker to end Shido's wrongdoings for him. And while he was doing Shido's dirty work, I think he was most similar to a puppet then, as he didn't know that Shido was planning to get rid of him after he was elected, and so he couldn't enact his revenge. So I guess while it is cool that they might have done that (I didn't check the dance yet fully), it likely doesn't match up too well. Though it's different if it's about how he felt, how he felt free before Shido's palace, and then during Shido's palace once it was revealed of how controlled he actually was. As dance is interpretive I guess? As I think they say dance it more so about the feeling you put into it? So that could probably connect to the feelings that Akechi felt before Shido's palace and during Shido's palace.
Actually, watching the dance I think it was more so showing the duality, with his Ace Detective persona and his actual persona. And there's bits and pieces of his actual persona within his fake Ace Detective persona too, with his facial expressions of his initial style at times and how a few moments are a bit more of his real persona.

I think its more of his ego/persona evolving (not Robin to Loki but how he shows himself) during game
..He was fine during most of the game but then his life was on the line near the end.
