As someone who prefers to watch a guide than to read, this game has very bloated descriptions. On one hand, it's good that the skill set are very detailed and fully described, but 90% of description are written as: "This attack with long name is a basic attack, and when you press the basic attack button, the character will perform basic attack that is used by pressing basic attack button and then targets some enemies and does some damage to them" And I'm like, I just lost 15 seconds of my life learning that characters in this action game do damage to enemies... and I just cannot force my self to read further :(
never knew what the little numbers at the end meant, sometimes id see Lucy with a similar or higher number than my piper or my Miyabi and would be so confused lmao. Guess it means everyone on the team is putting in work
people just have to engage with the community (specifically content creators) if they wanna learn more about the game. the only problem being is some ccs are very hostile when it comes to this stuff and instead of just answering the question they'll act like you're supposed to know it and act extremely condescending so people may rather just not ask and not risk that feeling of embarrassment. i know because I dealt with that shit while i was playing genshin. im glad that zzz ccs are a lot nicer and friendlier though, makes it so that we're probably gonna get better endgame (like we're already getting) because people are clearing the content because people are engaging with the communities and actually learning instead of feeling like garbage.

7:48, i love the training option, but they can make it so that we can choose an already customized version. Its kinda annoying to always go in, set all the setting up, then exit and rejoin if u wanna check the equipments. Like i was so annoyed yesterday after i finally got a good AM peice for my miyabi, but then had to do all the annoying things to check it in vr
Don't go dismissing people calling deadly assault hard. It's not hard in the sense of having hard hitting enemies nor is it just a skill thing, it's hard in that it is a character check. You will feel a VAST difference if you don't have Miyabi for the first boss and Burnice for the second. A casual player using Miyabi againt the first boss and Burnice against the second boss will have an easier time clearing full stars than an experienced player using anythig that isn't a disorder team (and reminder, all the best anomaly units are limited ones) Anomaly units already far outperform attackers but then they went and made a mode that favors anomaly units EVEN MORE. At this point, if any new player asked me what units to get and which ones to skip, I'd tell him get all the limited anomaly units and skip all the attack ones.
I've been playing for 14 days now and i got lycoan , rina and miyabi And i know nothing about lycoan or rina And miyabi just deletes everything even if i just mash buttons This vid has been very helpful my man
I'm using Harumasa (M0 with new W engine), Nicole (M6) and Qingyi (M1) team that utilizes Harumasa more as stun dps within that window. More collapse characters like Lighter could improve his teams that work especially well in short windows and give him more time to work with. 😄I love using Nicole and I've used the bootcamp since the beginning for characters I was not directly focusing on at that moment!☺
I think the game taught me what to put in my characters just fine - Physical team, free ball, use whatever you want (physical dmg bonus, pen ratio, atk%) - Ether team, Crit DMG. since there's only two agents it doesn't say much more than that - Ice team, crit rate and atk%. Ellen sig has crit rate, soukaku boost atk% and her ult boost her own crit rate - Fire team only wants atk%. Soldier11 core passive is all about dmg, her sig boost literally atk% on top of atk%, Lucy buff atk, Burnice use her atk% as off field dmg - Electric team all about pen ratio. Grace sig engine is boosting pen ratio instead of the predictable anomaly proficiency, Rina whole thing is boosting pen ratio, even yanagi core passive boost her own pen ratio honestly, elemental dmg bonus disc looks like ass when you start putting these stat in the 5th slot
The image with the 2 teams in Shiyu Defense is better described as: Team 1 (Jane, Seth & Yanagi) = 1.999 Damage Team 2 (Ellen, Lycaon & Rina) = 3.498 Damage Team 2 dealt 1.497 more Damage tha Team 1. That's almost double the damage, even though Team 1 had Jane + Yanagi as DPSs, while Team 2 only had Ellen as DPS. It's almost as if Jane was solo instead of a team, which barely got used. It's a great video and like you've said, it describe how if people don't know how to play, they will have a much harder time on difficult content. This is why "synergy" matters in a team in everything, from Gacha games to workplaces, sports team, etc. Just imagine in real life if all the members of a team were goalies in soccer, quarterbacks in American footbal, only hitters in baseball... you get the point, it would be really shit since there would be no synergy in those teams. With games it's the same, it's why a DPS with supports deals more damage than a team with 3 DPSs, that team with 3 DPSs has no synergy, they each are selfishly just doing their own thing and not helping one another. While an Hypercarry team you have the other members buffing the DPS and/or debuffing enemies, making that DPS hit much harder than all 3 DPSs unbuffed combined. This is true in so many aspects of life, not just games, but in miHoYo games this is specially true, in Honkai Impact 3rd if you play a DPS without her team, oh boy, prepare to do no damage at all. Same in Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. It's those buffs and debuffs that will make DPS characters achieve their true potential and shine. I agree though, the games need to teach people how to play better. Though players also have to make an effort, if they're lazy, they will eventually hit difficulty walls and say the game got too difficult. HSR aside, all endgame modes in miHoYo's games are actually fairly balanced and easy if players know how to play. If they don't learn at least the basics of combat, then they will have a real hard time every time the game demands more than just the bare minimum, that they didn't even bother to learn. I know it sounds like blaming players, but if it's a game they will spend at least dozens to hundreds of hours playing, then they should absolutely take the time to learn how to play the game. This is true for anything in life, if it's something that you will do a lot of times, learning how to do it properly will make your life infinitely better than if you did without knowing anything. It's why cooking, driving and so many things have people who are good and bad at it, some learn how to do it right while others do it without putting much thought into it. Needless to say which people are the better ones at it and which are shit.

These are good training modes for sure but I feel it being relegated to side content is for the best. If they were a implemented part of the main game/story I feel people would complain regardless, remember how people were bitching back in 1.0 that the beginning of ZZZ being slow despite imo being the best paced of all their games. Had this proper tutorial been a part of that it be a whole lot worse in peoples eyes, Its just a fact that people will not care about actually learning how to play this game properly. I'm just glad it exist and the people who have actual motivation to learn will find it.
I started playing ZZZ just before xmas, whilst I can compare a lot of things to HSR like polychromes = Jades. The UI in the game is awful, it's all style over function. Overall, I'm enjoying the game and will continue to play, though I don't think I'll go in as deep as I am with HSR.
Iyo, do you have any information about how the damage formula of the game works? Most specifically, how the enemy DEF stat reduces your damage dealt? I'm build an Ellen with 32% PEN, + 99 PEN, just waiting to reach the 300 draws to get Rina (I already have the engine). So far I did some testing, and the Disc 5 being either ATQ% or PEN% have a difference of not even 1% (maybe it is the substats doing some magic, but idk) I'm going kinda blind into this cause I can always go back to the Ellen, Lycaon and Soukaku team, but I really wanna make this work.
Hot take but I don't think the UI is necessarily conducive to getting in there and reading/understanding. It alters between hyper-dynamic and listed walls of text. Mr. Hello was helpful but I learned more from labbing and looking up youtube. Maybe if the move descriptions had little video boxes showing the moves off like DMC...
Any tips for Shiyu Disputed 08? I'm getting smoked hard, and I don't think my character levels are the issue (All characters i used are minimally 50 onwards). I tried just winging the first portion with Miyabi and could clear within seconds, but I have absolutely no idea how to deal with the two bear dudes afterwards.

I was thinking with fire but I have no S11, so i went in with Koleda (joined two days before Nagi banner expired, so no Burnice either), didn't want to risk Lighter as his invul period is really short after a perf evade counter. I can manage to dodge and attack, but i think my issue is Koleda's not doing too much damage, and by the time I've worn down the little bear and he's dead, I myself am also mentally exhausted and my fingers are already strained. And the big one just undos me in two hits. Is it worth for me to build Koleda with more attack? Or should I build more anomaly on her so that the fire will do more over time?
ngl the guide system in this game is total crap. Even in the intro you can see soldier 11 not even having her w-engine as recommended, also the more plans guide usually sucks as it's just the same plan again or something even more outlandish.
Number one tip would be to pull for Miyabi Even at S0R0 with A rank support she is a fckin beast, oh and her gameplay and animation is peak. I play the game at release, quit after a week and return for 1.4 patch and honestly the game is so much better now. The jump in quality for everyone else to Miyabi is just too much. I tried playing every single character using trial and nothing come close to the smoothness of her gameplay, quickswap combo and her animation is just one step above the rest. Her 3 step core skill is so cool and yes her 3rd step is the one that is mostly used but the rest can actually be useful in some scenarios (destroying tentacles etc), her Ex skill have two-step and it is peak, her normal is great and her ultimate just peak. I have tried using my friends account with most of the chara unlocked and play with them for a few days and I have to say, beside Miyabi, most of the character in the game barely feels like a step up from GI, especially the 1.0 character and even 1.5 character doesn't look to be on the same level as Miyabi, yes they look good but from all the leak I've seen, Evelyn is still great of course but I'd put her at T 0.5 if Miyabi at T0 (purely on presentation, animation, gameplay) Well, this isn't PGR, in Hoyo games people can beat the end game (9 star endless assault) with A rank ezpz so honestly Meta is just a guideline at best and people could and should pull for anyone they like but damn. I wish everyone is as good as Miyabi.
