Thank you, Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr, for Episode. #221 of ICWC!!
The opportunity to listen to Dr. Carr speak so honestly on the 'social construct', which is our current homeland, was the highlight of my week!!
PREACH, Dr. Carr, like only you can, in these trying times in which we live. We NEED to hear what you share!!
Love your renditions of TP and Harlold Melvin!
The melodies in your voice are a soothing balm to this weary soul, bro. Sing on... sing on 🎶🎼🎵.
    Blessing to y'all!!

Thank you Professor Hunter for sharing Dr. Carr's blunt no lies spoken TRUTHS with all of humanity who are seeking refuge from our oppressors and desire and choose to drink from both of your intentional clean glass of righteous waters. Today's episode took me back down "Memory Lane". I remember my now flawed but caring elder neighbors whose feet I sat at in my teens during the mid/late Seventies absorbing their wisdom about the traumas they had endured during the "JIM CROW ERA". I keep their benevolent gifts that they poured into my being as my Balm to live my existence with righteous intentions as I journey in this fickled Southern Hemisphere . I know that freedom here is really an illusion for the beings who know struggles & Spiritual PAIN!! May our GREAT SOULS ANCESTORS rest in Eternal POWER!

Thank you for the memory of Conch. In the Caribbean, I have a memory of that type of community. Also a memory of my parents and other family members who sent barrels from where they were now living to their home to their family. My parents and the older ones were more proactive in caring for the people they left home than my generation. But I think my generation have a culture of giving to charities which is still a learned behavior of giving and caring.

      @nulightpros136 point taken.
However, I recognized the passion which Dr Carr recalled his grandparents names and touching experiences which moved him to tears.
Introspection and reflection (of experiences you've NEVER had) pale in comparison to Dr Carr's first hand accounts.

@@greganderson6849 l hear you. I have a few ancestors that I know but the overwhelming majority I cannot. I work to re-member them however I can- maybe stories, maybe an artifact. I like to visit places they lived, eat foods they ate. I feel the connection. All we can do is all we can do.

It’s a very uplifting filling when you are hearing negative through the week so what you were saying about South Africa really got me out of the blue blue. What’s going on with Trump, so I think you and I pray that we all understand the truth and the truth set us free.🙋🏿💯

Thank you Dr. Carr and Professor Hunter for the continued elevation of our awareness of what's really going on in the world and our place in it. And Dr. Carr I thank you for talking about the history of Lyles-Crouch School. My mother attended Lyles Crouch in the 1930's when the school was housed in the old white brick building which was located on the northeast corner of Wilkes St. and South Pitt St. in so called "Old Town" Alexandria. The old school building was torn down in the 1970's when I attended the current day red brick structure located on the southwest corner of South Saint Asaph St and Gibbon St. and south east corner of South Pitt St. and Gibbon Sts. I was totally incensed and furious at that ritualistc piece of white supermacist hypocrisy being reinacted at the school I once attended with Black children forced to partake in it.

This, THIS RIGHT HERE, is why we do this regularly weekly convening. Thank you, thank you, thank you for teaching us with your direct experiences and reflections. I hope you’ll reach out to the current administration at the school and share your experiences and insights, not only with them but with the teachers, children and their families. Maybe even call on some others and convene a panel and maybe even some ongoing work: Your words and memories make our hearts sing. We must reclaim the momentum of our memory. Again, eternal thanks.

Dr. Carr I Love you and hope to meet you at some point.
Would be a blessing because I need some guidance on a life's personal matter. Being a record enthusiast as a child from Philadelphia .
    My teacher in elementary school
Mr. Henderson at Houston school in Mt. Airy sent me to Philadelphia International Records for knowing all the labels on Jazz records and soul music. Was and experience but it could have been better if I met Kenny Gamble or Leon Huff or simply be in the recording studio. The song you where singing :
I hope to be together soon.
    Where the Ebony's.
Not Harold Melvin & the Blue notes.
That being said. Thank you and Karen for this episode. How can I reach you...
    Thanks again Darren.👋🏽🇺🇸🔹

The problems will not solve from trickle down economics. We the people can pull together, for example, allow the formerly incarcerated to change their name, have a bank account, receive a stipend or living wage under a new social security number, etc. Use a Singapore or Alaskan style living quarters for the homeless; take education back to pre-Civil Rights with equal funding (by the people) and pray the USA can find a place in this world where live and let live is the motto.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their race - the human race. We are losing our status as the leading nation. How can we come more together without waiting for solutions from Congress, etc. Maybe we can include the churches in the solutions to our problem of dealing with the least of these. We the people need to hurry up and solve the problems of the human race:
