The first is to change the fuel in the tank, and check the AC Pump it works or not. The second to change the oil and filters. The third is to check the belts and the ignition system. If everything is ok, you can start the engine. Just watch a video from M539, here in the youtube.
Very good video on how to destroy an engine, no lubing of the cylinders, no clean fuel and filters and when it starts on starting fluid rev the tits of it, brilliant idea!
Seriously? That electric fuel pump is literally one of the easiest/cheapest repairs you can do to that car..... why not rebuild or replace it to get that car running? Of course the cylinder walls and or piston rings might be a little screwed up because you didn't pre-lube the cylinders and hand-rotate the crank before trying to start it. Is it really that much extra work to pull the spark plugs, spray in a little bit of oil (or WD40 even) and put a wrench on the crank pulley so you can rotate it 360 degrees?
Those 3.4 straight 6 M30's were great engines - I had a 1988 BMW E34 535i sport auto back in 2003 in diamond black and absolutely loved it ! - very smooth and very good top end acceleration - I swapped it shortly afterwards for a 1998 E39 540i steptronic auto and my nightmare began ! - The BMW M62 V8 engine was trouble !... and very unreliable constantly needing coil packs and MAF's and breaking valves when it used to randomly backfire ! - Wish I had kept my old E34 now :(
So on a lot of german cars of this era there is an in-tank electric pump so cranking doesnt provide anything but its primed during 3s or so after you turn the key on just before the ignition position.
Nice car just check after 12 years ignition cap , ign. Wires, pulse regulator,...or change if you have inspection and will be 👌and check batterie and starter. And i recommand to change fuel filter and check fuel lines , if everythings is ok than put petrol and put inside STP injector cleaner for a first fuel tank. Then he will be Top. 😉
I love videos like this. I'm planning on starting a channel similar to this one. Over the last year, Ihave saved an abandoned E46 that someone actually left broke down in my yard for a year and I took it on myself fix and work out getting a title for it. And I just purchased a 01 BMW 740il Highline for practically nothing, that had been left to rot in the back lot of a car dealer I visited. The e38 was running when I bought it though. But there is a lot of cosmetic work to do and I'm going to have to rebuild or replace the transmission
just like my car. sitting in field from 1998 to 2020 put a fuel pump on and it started right up new cap and rotor and i have $350 into a running bmw that will spin the backtires
Electric primed fuel system, why are you cranking it? JUST TURN THE IGNITION ON!. Also, PLUG THE ICV BACK IN!!. You should just turn it off, walk away and leave it for another twelve years.

you need fog oil for men as well
This guy is actually showing you how you should not start a car that’s been sitting for 12 years
Yeah mental how you wouldn’t even want to put fogging spray in the bores at the bare minimum
I wouldve drained n redone fluids

thanks! Glad you liked it

Why dont you repair this good old car?
Never atempt to start a car who is sitting this long with old fuel in it and without lubricate the cilinders NEVER! 🚨🚨
did you put oil in the cylinders before cranking it ?
nope, just turned the key & went for it, we did put fuel in it when we first picked it up.
@@abdautomotive why not? Its kinda mandatory
@@abdautomotive Bruh you need to change that unles you wanna ruin an engine that's been siting with crud oil.
your wreking this car . new plugs new fuel and new battery . lets have beer .
Sry but it is very stupid to crank engine without lubing the cilinders on old oil and gas... You will ruin engine this way..
Right
Agree. Fail.
Yep missed a important step
Rings can freeze on bore and snap like carrots with starter torque..... lube bores first and leave to penetrate overnight...
@@davidfotheringham2480 how do you do that? I have a 528i that’s been sitting bc of security system and would like to enjoy it again.
Hey if you want a few clues about old BMW vehicles. Check out m539 restorations. He knows every thing. Very entertaining as well. Worth a try.
Pretty sure he would say "do not try to start it".
seen all episodes lol he is the man and he would be pissed off right now
I wrote the same... :)))))))

If no ignition and no fuel, TDC h.s sensor
It is located towards the damper pulley
It is quite typical on those cars that the fuel pump fails when the car has been unused for a long time.
Have experienced exactly the same phenomenon.
For me bro if I get a chance to buy that car ,really is a beast in my state there no one car power can compare with that beast the speed
Куда столько кефира брызгаете?Бензин в бак залейте и фильтр поменяйте для начала...
How was the gas after 12 years? Did u use it later? I am going to try to start a Jag tomorrow, hasn't been started in 12 years
it was no good, tank was corroded

Its good so far
did u try putting gas in it lol

Runs like a dream….as long as you give it fuel on a can
Increvable les bmw
Just the crank = German quality...gotta watch that weight...
That fuel pump is screaming !

Wenn comorasoon zoli der sehr gut acumulatoare gut anlasser gut muss laufen
OK so no lube in the cylinders then you rev the nuts off it. Brilliant, just brilliant. Edd China got some real competition here ffs 🤣🤣🤣
E34 so handsome
Poor car...
Hell Yea
i found one bmw e30 316
nice!
Well bloody hell bloke! Ya' dont pump up vanished petro into the bloody carb....
I can hear banjos . . . .
Oooh, so that's where the battery goes
There’s no fuel in your tank dude!!...put some gasoline
Ruining an engine that may have been worth saving.
Gruby się nie mieści do auta XD
