I am confusion XD I can understand frustration at the start when you don't know where to go and what to do. But exploring the game is so rewarding! You meet so many people and can make so many friends! I found amazing group of friends just because they put their chat table on top of ours and we started talking XD (The Ana from The Counsil was here hehe >=3) Also there are LOTS of fun adventures created by game and players =D It lives by itself not to mention frequent events and seasons^^ I've been playing for more than a year now and I love it so much! ^^
My 2022 review: About 15-25 hours Switch This game is a MUST on Nintendo Switch, it has God tier music and truly a beautiful art design with so much charm, Whimsical keys and atmosphere of exploration that your always trying to see what next. It does take awhile to slowly understand this game. Took me till the 3rd world level to finally hook me and I never regret looking back. People who play Journey would love this game tho there people who think it’s not like Journey probably never went far enough and stop AH FEEL BAD FOR THEM CUZ IT IS JOURNEY…plus more! It’s just has a multiplayer social element next to it but can be played solo like i did 90% of the time. 10% is when you actually need to do coop stuff and it was fun but I like exploring new places myself and not let someone guild me. Sky’s has lots of secrets, sub levels within the 6 world levels, even seasonal levels like Christmas, Halloween, Easter etc there a lot to check out and find. I love the mechanics of flying and exploring beautiful places with the music 🎶 just flowing my pace and finding what new ah it was great 👍. Trust me play till the 3rd level which is Hidden forest that place is wild but fun cuz after 2-5 hours I thought this was wayyy to easy but it get more complex and cooler the more you play. Tho level 2 had one of the most charming levels again GOD TIER MUSIC. Oh and you don’t have to pay since it’s just cosmetic with the Adventure pass. if you really want to look cool, but I love the natural Journey look sand brown cape. A pet peeve I have is when people give bad reviews because they don’t know enough about the game or company. Or when they think the one star is the good review. It’s even worse when it sounds like these people got a device for the first time and played a video game for the first time.

Well I saw a video about sky about what new mophs usually do/think about the game.... The one star reviews that say they love the game are usually A. sarcastic B. viewing it as the more stars there are the less lovely it is C. annoyed with having to leave 5 star reviews on stuff so they just leave a one star review just to get it done quickly or D. misclicks The people who say "this is similar to journey" or "Journey Rip off" are people who don't know that A. TGC developed both games and B. Sky is meant to be a spiritual successor to journey. To the one upset about losing all their levels I agree with Mei and ask where you left your sky kid alone? Don't leave your sky kid in the rain overnight at forest either especially not before a trip somewhere. You will spend your morning panicking to get all Winged Lights back before you go instead of getting ready because you don't want the first thing on sky back from said trip being "I NEED WINGED LIGHTS AHHHHHHHH." To those who don't like the lag: I'm so sorry that is preventing you from playing the game. I hope that A. you get a better internet connection and B. that the devs fix this problem For those confused or upset about it being online, and multiplayer 1. you can go solo, it doesn't usually hinder your gameplay, and 2. it still needs online because it's multiplayer. One idea I partially agree with is having an offline mode, so you can play the game solo without internet,or are able to play in scenarios where internet is just not present (e.g. traveling somewhere where you won't be able to access internet) because not everyone wants to play with many peoples let alone people in the first place, and sometimes people don't want something like internet problems to prevent them from playing a game they love. Plus not *everything* should need online in order to work, only the stuff involving multiplayer and live updates. If an online mode is to work it will need the big caveat of no access to anything that *needs* online or multiplayer to work. So no multiplayer, no shared spaces, unless you are in one when you go offline. No seasons or days of events (if needed it could be like shared spaces, where it can only be there offline if, you are in a season right before you go offline), and no way to update your game. Your progress offline will only be seen once you return online, so say you farm 20 candles offline, and you had 20 candles before you farmed offline, you will only see 40 candles once you are online again. I doubt you would have access to dailies unless it was similar to progress. 2:28 dear player, I ask, what did you do to "defeat a krill." From my understanding, you cannot defeat the krill in normal game play. If it goes towards you does not mean you defeated it. it means it is attacking you. you cannot kill or attack a krill without getting krilled and potentially killed first. And yes if you lose all winged light before going to thwelcome back to a big square one. But if you rebirth, you will lose your winged light still but (if you buy winged buffs), get stronger, via collecting your winged lights so the square one isn't as big. Good luck on those winged light runs. But if you don't want to die to krill I recommend making a capeless account. It's a struggle, and you won't be able to fly, but you will trade your lack of flight for an immortal life and you you can figure it out as there are tutorials online. Good luck. as for ultimate rewards you don't get them via "defeating a krill." you get them via 1. if it is a seasonal constellation, having a season pass, 2 collecting all the seasonal candles each day, collecting lots of regular candles, 3. getting all the cosmetics of all the spirits for a constellation, and then 4. if it is a seasonal constelation going to the quest giver, and giving seasonal hearts for it, or 5. if it is a base game constelation, going to eden, dying at the statue rooms, getting an ultimate reward from the elders with ascended candles. I'd rate the game a 2.5*, graphics are great, very atmospheric very immersive got me emotional at one time, I love the people I met and the underlying lore of the game, but game gets repetitive with candle running, variety of emotes are great but for the most part I only use the bow since it's kind of the universal emote. The store bought items are very expensive as well, many of the cosmetics are kind of re-skins, getting cosmetics is difficult without friends, which led to people on making alt accounts, kind of ruins the spirit of the game. A lot of the times I'd see players ignore moths, it's like they've grown this mindset of "I have valley elder hair, season pass and black cape, I'm not lighting you". Game also has a lot of bugs, sometimes doors won't open when I light them, people would randomly disappear, one instance I was guiding a moth to eden, then she disappeared, I sat there waiting for a connection, nope, she gone. Many of my friends have gone inactive due to reasons stated above, I only have about 4 "active" friends. One of my close friends says something before he quits: "you play the game, reach eden, enjoy the scenery and all and that's pretty much it. Get cosmetics, make friends is a thing, cool, but what now? Candle farms? How long do you want to repeat the cycle? Until you get all emotes? Cosmetics? So unrewarding, wow I have this cool umbrella, I worked hard for, time to flex and forget the game, until the next update or patch". Something like that, we had a long discussion. Overall this game is great, but the burnout is real and the layout of the game doesn't really offer much replayability, maybe it's my shift of preferences, but game got boring.
I see it more as a virtual world to be honest. A place to enjoy connections with others and express yourself. If you see it as a game you have to beat, well then it's over pretty quick. I've met some really great people on Sky! I suggest that you invest in a table if you haven't already. It really helps.

A. sarcastic
B. viewing it as the more stars there are the less lovely it is

The people who say "this is similar to journey" or "Journey Rip off" are people who don't know that A. TGC developed both games and B. Sky is meant to be a spiritual successor to journey.
To the one upset about losing all their levels I agree with Mei and ask where you left your sky kid alone? Don't leave your sky kid in the rain overnight at forest either especially not before a trip somewhere. You will spend your morning panicking to get all Winged Lights back before you go instead of getting ready because you don't want the first thing on sky back from said trip being "I NEED WINGED LIGHTS AHHHHHHHH."
To those who don't like the lag: I'm so sorry that is preventing you from playing the game. I hope that A. you get a better internet connection and B. that the devs fix this problem
For those confused or upset about it being online, and multiplayer 1. you can go solo, it doesn't usually hinder your gameplay, and 2. it still needs online because it's multiplayer.
One idea I partially agree with is having an offline mode, so you can play the game solo without internet,or are able to play in scenarios where internet is just not present (e.g. traveling somewhere where you won't be able to access internet) because not everyone wants to play with many peoples let alone people in the first place, and sometimes people don't want something like internet problems to prevent them from playing a game they love. Plus not *everything* should need online in order to work, only the stuff involving multiplayer and live updates.
If an online mode is to work it will need the big caveat of no access to anything that *needs* online or multiplayer to work. So no multiplayer, no shared spaces, unless you are in one when you go offline. No seasons or days of events (if needed it could be like shared spaces, where it can only be there offline if, you are in a season right before you go offline), and no way to update your game. Your progress offline will only be seen once you return online, so say you farm 20 candles offline, and you had 20 candles before you farmed offline, you will only see 40 candles once you are online again. I doubt you would have access to dailies unless it was similar to progress.
2:28 dear player, I ask, what did you do to "defeat a krill." From my understanding, you cannot defeat the krill in normal game play. If it goes towards you does not mean you defeated it. it means it is attacking you. you cannot kill or attack a krill without getting krilled and potentially killed first. And yes if you lose all winged light before going to thwelcome back to a big square one. But if you rebirth, you will lose your winged light still but (if you buy winged buffs), get stronger, via collecting your winged lights so the square one isn't as big.
Good luck on those winged light runs. But if you don't want to die to krill I recommend making a capeless account. It's a struggle, and you won't be able to fly, but you will trade your lack of flight for an immortal life and you you can figure it out as there are tutorials online. Good luck.
as for ultimate rewards you don't get them via "defeating a krill." you get them via 1. if it is a seasonal constellation, having a season pass, 2 collecting all the seasonal candles each day, collecting lots of regular candles, 3. getting all the cosmetics of all the spirits for a constellation, and then 4. if it is a seasonal constelation going to the quest giver, and giving seasonal hearts for it, or 5. if it is a base game constelation, going to eden, dying at the statue rooms, getting an ultimate reward from the elders with ascended candles. I hope this helps you

To the one who "lost their account" if this happens, just sign in on your account again (Google, facebook, Nintendo, PS, Steam when that release happens, etc. and you should be back to normal)
For those confused about chat, and community. Servers hold 8 players max, the game isn't dead. Chat can be accessed via a chat table and/or bench, and can be unlocked via candles or a sky code. it ensures safety of players online.

Boi the only children Ik who play this game are the kids of my friends and that is always far and few in between I swear the people on this game are older than I thought they’d be I met one of my friend and I asked their age I think they said like 24 And I got a shock down my spine but now I’m more used to it I don’t recommend sharing any personal info though with anyone in sky unless you know them personally
I'd rate the game a 2.5*, graphics are great, very atmospheric very immersive got me emotional at one time, I love the people I met and the underlying lore of the game, but game gets repetitive with candle running, variety of emotes are great but for the most part I only use the bow since it's kind of the universal emote. The store bought items are very expensive as well, many of the cosmetics are kind of re-skins, getting cosmetics is difficult without friends, which led to people on making alt accounts, kind of ruins the spirit of the game. A lot of the times I'd see players ignore moths, it's like they've grown this mindset of "I have valley elder hair, season pass and black cape, I'm not lighting you". Game also has a lot of bugs, sometimes doors won't open when I light them, people would randomly disappear, one instance I was guiding a moth to eden, then she disappeared, I sat there waiting for a connection, nope, she gone. Many of my friends have gone inactive due to reasons stated above, I only have about 4 "active" friends. One of my close friends says something before he quits: "you play the game, reach eden, enjoy the scenery and all and that's pretty much it. Get cosmetics, make friends is a thing, cool, but what now? Candle farms? How long do you want to repeat the cycle? Until you get all emotes? Cosmetics? So unrewarding, wow I have this cool umbrella, I worked hard for, time to flex and forget the game, until the next update or patch". Something like that, we had a long discussion. Overall this game is great, but the burnout is real and the layout of the game doesn't really offer much replayability, maybe it's my shift of preferences, but game got boring.
I see it more as a virtual world to be honest. A place to enjoy connections with others and express yourself. If you see it as a game you have to beat, well then it's over pretty quick. I've met some really great people on Sky! I suggest that you invest in a table if you haven't already. It really helps.
I mean this game was made to experience it once with friends and afterwards just spend time in the game with friends! It’s like a chatroom but in a game with these persona’s you make up and customize
